Today was fairly busy. I got up late (since Mary Ellen was here so late) and I went with my sister, Melanie to bring lunch to our good friend, Shirley, who works at Logan Regional Hospital. It is always hard for me to go into that building because of Matthew, but it gets easier the more I am there (which is a lot). Over lunch she suggested that I would love volunteering in the nursery feeding and holding the newborns…um….YAH!!!! I am going to check into it. I rarely get access to infants and am absolutely nuts about them, so it would be an amazing experience if I was allowed to do it. Plus I think it would be healing.
After lunch I went to see my mom. She has gone clothing and shoe buying-wild. She has a pair of plum heels that I am lusting after (way cute…round toe, bow on the front and strappy) she bought a lot of daring outfits that look really great. I am so proud! I also showed her how to handle her email account and how to purge junk mailings. It was cool…it made me feel technology non-stupid, which is rare for me.
I went home and did some research for my friend, Mary Ellen about an obscure CD she’s been looking for for years and couldn’t find…but I did!!! It was so fun…I bought it and sent it to her to brighten her day (she’s having a bit of a rough patch). I loved it. Plus, I got a CD for Miss Gracie…my very favorite musical of all time, “The Secret Garden”. It was supposed to be delivered to Michelle’s house for her, but it came to mine. I can’t wait for her to hear it. She is only 4, but already such a little actress and singer. She sang me Phantom of the Opera and acted out all the parts…so I think that she will really like these new tunes.
I also mailed an important package today. There were a ton of cars at the North Logan Post Office, so I thought I would stop by the Hyde Park office on my way to drop of the CD to Chelle and Gracie. There was only one car in the parking lot so I thought I was set. I went in and a couple was mailing out 300 catalogs for their business and the clerk was on number EIGHT!!! Arg. I did have to fill out an annoying custom form, so that passed some time, but it took forever and there were 10 of us in line by the time they were done. But at least I got my stuff sent.
As it is Tuesday, it is “Girlfriend Night”. Chelle came over with “comfort trash food” which means, Tostito’s, a jar of Con Ceaso, Swedish Fish, Caramel Kisses and two entertainment magazines. It was awesome. We had a great talk, and then our friend Karen joined us and we hung out. Then we decided it was time for some real food (ok, Michelle wanted a chili hot dog, but that is more real that swedish fish!) so we were going to go to A&W, but ended up a Chili’s instead. Enchilada soup…YUM!
Plus, Chelle told Karen and I that we are getting our Christmas Gifts early and she is treating us to seeing the musical, “Mamma Mia” a whole musical based on ABBA tunes. I am so freaking excited. I love ABBA!
Brian then joined in the fray (as he was a dork and ate dinner at home!). We went to Karen’s and watched “The Office” and “My Life With Earl”. Two hillarious shows…SO funny. We just had a blast relveling in our laid-backness. Plus we oggled some very hot men in People Magazine, so it is all good.
And here I am at 1:20 in the AM…Yawn! I am off to bed…talk with y’all later.
