“Umm. Momma? I have been thinking. Since I have lost both of my front teeth and am almost out of my pullups, this means that I am more mature. I am thinking that maybe I should try and sleep tonight without you giving me “Tucky Inn-ies”. “
NO TUCKY INN-IES?
One of the few accomplishments I have as a mother is that I tuck my children in bed every single night. If they are awake when I get home, they have “Tucky Inn-ies”. This basically consists of me straightening all their bedding, snuggling them, and then I do the thing they love the most. I press lightly on their shoulders so they bounce up and down a bit. They dig it.
I told him that if that is what he wanted, then it was ok.
It was NOT okay. It just bummed me out. I am not a slobbering, smothering mom, but this was my special time with my boys. I wanted to cry a bit. Instead, I called my friend Michelle, who immediately told me that the reply should have been “NO! You are never to old for that! Just tell him that you still give Jon Tucky Inn-ies, too!”
What an image THAT last sentence brought about… ;)
I went in to shut off the light and Christopher ended up changing his mind. I informed that he is never to old for huggies, kissies, slobbering, snuggles and Tucky Inn-ies from his Momma.
In an unrelated moment, I have to announce that the unfathomable just happened! My mother-in-law came over to my house when it was CLEAN!!! I worked out and shopped with Bridgy and then came home and have just been a cleaning whore.
She walked in and said “It looks really good in here.“
YES! I swear she has radar:“I can sense that Loralee’s house looks like crap, I think I’ll go over.”
It may only happen a few times in my life time, so I am just going to sit back and savor the moment.
