I heard knocking coming from Butterlump’s nursery the other morning.
I thought he was up early and so, I went to investigate.
And when I opened the door, I saw this:
I am not sure what aspect of this moment I am more fond of or what gets my most enthusiastic thumbs up…the swim shoes on the wrong feet, the halloween top, the fact that he’s holding a toy power drill or the expression on his face.
However, I think I am going to go with the fact that he took off his diaper and selected his swimsuit complete with built in waterproof diaper. Which totally made the fact that he opted to use the potty while wearing it way, WAY LESS TRAUMATIC.

I can hear Tim Gunn’s voice in my head ‘make it work!’
When I taught grade 1, I still had kids who constantly put their shoes on the wrong feet. Moreover, they did not have the fashion sense Butterlump does. I mean seriously, who knows when he is going to be asked to a costume party and repairs are going to be needed, and there he is with his drill. This man is going places!
That ensemble is one of the greatest toddler outfits I’ve ever seen. The expression is priceless.
If he is not the poster child for toddler adorableness, I do not know who is. This is fantastically cute, and so going into the pile of pictures to show future girlfriends, right?
Hey! He’s got my Sense of Style! Give it Back!
I love when my kids dress themselves so creatively. BUT I ca not believe he is old enough to be doing that!!!!!
Love this! My monkeys have been dressing themselves for years and I absolutely love it. Like today, Gaby is wearing a white shirt (which says ” birthday girl”, her birthday was in May), teal blue hello kitty shorts, neon orange socks, and bright pink sneakers. We went out to lunch and she was dressed this way. Lol!
Too cute!! Reminds me of one of my kids at the preschool. She dressed herself every morning, with every color and pattern imaginable. Striped pants with a flowery patterned dress, sometimes a long sleeved top underneath, mismatched socks, and for a while mismatched crocs.
My 12 year old still dresses in interesting fashion choices, but I do miss the cute outfits when they were little. This is priceless.
I. LOVE. HIM.
I don’t know what everyone is talking about. There is orange in the shirt and in the shorts. Total fashion sense.
So cute! And congrats on potty using little boy! Can you come to talk to my boys? Why do 2yo insist on saying “No” to whatever you want them to do just when you want them to be convinced it’s great to use the potty.
At least he has his drill. Accessories are important
“Don’t you dare, Mommy.”
Cool kid.
His look says, “Dude, don’t mock the outfit.” ;)
I LOVE Two year olds!!
I love the outfit! Having 4 wee ones, currently ages 10, 7, 5, 4, we are mostly past the crazy outfits, but honestly I miss it! My favorite part is definitely the darling expression!
