Halloween through the years…

October 31, 2010

HALLOWEEN 2010

This year we all dressed up as: Flo the Progressive Insurance chick on TV, “HANS & FRANS (2.0)” from SNL (Butterlump totally tore the letters off his sweatshirt), Christopher is a character from Halo and James is something weird. (This is a theme.)

HALLOWEEN 2009

BNB_0142BNB_0145BNB_0140

Billy Mays and his bucked of OxiClean, “The Snuggie Girl”, a storm trooper and I still have no clue what James was supposed to be, exactly.

HALLOWEEN 2008

Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, The Little Bad Wolf and James was a Ninja (again.) Frankly, I think I look hawt for a pregnant chick.

HALLOWEEN 2007

Dog & Beth-Bounty Hunters. James was a Ninja and Christopher was Naruto.

HALLOWEEN 2006

The boys were Avatars, I was Thelma and Jon went as “The blue screen of death” . (His costume was greatly appreciated by his fellow computer-geek co-workers)

HALLOWEEN  2004

Jonathan and I went as Jane Eyre and attended a Halloween party with friends. One of my favorite photos of Christopher. He was a pirate and Max and Bridgy’s bird, “Kitty”, made a guest appearance on his head. James wanted to go as an elf. I have NO clue why.

HALLOWEEN 1996

halloween

Me and James as Little Bo Peep and her wee little sheep

HALLOWEEN 1982

My twin sister, Loraina, and I as Raggedy Ann.

Next year we are thinking of dressing up as Buck Rogers, Wilma and having Butterlump be Twiki.

Heh.

I hope you had a Happy Halloween!  Did y’all dress up?  Do anything fun?

What?

Let me know, dudes…I love hearing stuff like that.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I am at my favorite part of the holiday…taking a hot shower, crawling in bed and watching  The Changeling.

Night!

xo,

Loralee

We must be on the same costume wavelength. Adam and I were Dog and Beth 2 years ago, and guess what I was this year? That’s right, Flo. Just took off the costume.

You were a much sluttier Beth, however. So, congrats.

Wait, WHAT? As I type this, it’s 11:37pm on October 30th!!! We haven’t HAD Halloween yet. Although, I will say, I’ve already had my fill of Halloween. Work parties, school parties, neighborhood parties, and that’s not even trick-or-treating. This year it actually spread to TWO weekends of parties. I’m like WTF??? It just doesn’t work so well when purchasing the Wal-Mart costumes that have a usage life of about 12 hours. Then we get into the whole multiple costumes in one year mess. Ugh. I’m the Halloween Party Pooper.

Lol! Some years im more into it than others for sure.In utah when Halloween falls on Sunday everyone celebrated and truck or treats on Saturday. Mormons are huge on not doing things on the Sabbath like that and so ce it’s such a huge majority everyone follows suit.

  • So awesome!
Love the Flo costume. (Although, my husband hasn’t seen a commercial in almost 2 years and asked if you were going as AUNT Flo. Which also would be a hilarious costume.)

  • Elizabeth says:

Kiddo (age 5) was a fire fighter this year. The past 2 years he’s been Thomas the Tank Engine. Hubby worked so I took Kiddo to the annual SL Town Square trick or treating event last night. No costume for me except cat ear headband. I’m just not that into the whole Halloween thing, neither were my parents. Don’t know that we’ll go out tonight.

  • Tricia says:

I am so thoroughly impressed that you had the forethought to get a great family shot every year before trick or treating! That is so awesome! The papa and I haven’t dressed up with Henry yet, but after seeing this post and a few others, I’m convinced that next year IT IS A MUST! You’re an inspiration even in your Halloween decisions!

  • Rebecca says:

Hahahaha! Your costume this year is awesome! I love those Flo commercials! Well done. :)

Flo! You look great! I loved your husband’s Billy Mays & Butterlump as an Oxyclean bucket last year. :)

    P.S. I don’t know if it’s just my comp, but I can’t see your 2004 & 2003 pics.

Golly, you DO look like Flo!

  • Oh my goodness. I love your pictures! What great costumes through the years. You look exactly like Flow. Holy cow. Perfection.

  • Bridge says:

Thanks for ditching your soup at my house. =) It was delicious.

P.S. Christopher gave me all of his Dots. YUM. I did give candy bars back in trade though.

  • Erin T. says:

I’m sorry, but even as Hanz and Franz, I will never be able to see Jonathan as anything but the Oxy clean guy! Love your Flo, though. (You needed a bigger bumpit, though!)

  • Joe in N Calif says:

    oooo….handcuffs!

All Hallows Eve can be fun. For a little while we set up a table outside, with table cloth, candles, and bowls of candy. I put on armor (brigandine, plate legs, splint vambraces and rerebraces, barrel helm with camilie) and held a 9 foot spear. Our culdesac had a little curve to it so I could hear the kids before they saw me. I would freeze, not move at all, sometimes with the spear point right near one of the bowls. Usually brought people up short ‘Hey, is someone in there?” “No, it isn’t moving” “No…I thought I saw it blink” “Nah..that is just the light” “NO! Watch the eyes” “Yer crazy! It’s just a manikin” It was great. Especially when I finally did move – kids were usually fine with it, it was the parents that gasped. Since we moved though, and our street has no lights or sidewalks, we don’t get any trick or treaters.

Okay, “Frans” totally cracks me up!!! What a sport he is! All your costumes are pretty fabulous, I must say. So glad you shared them with us. Happy belated Halloween. :)

  • You presented some great stuff there. I did a browse on the point and discovered plenty of people could agree with your blog.
