I missed out on Sunday links last week as I was up to my ears in painting and organizing our school room, but I am back! Here are some things that have caught my eye in my Internet surfing the last couple of weeks.
If I sewed, I would TOTALLY make this adorable pillow set of the seasons. TOTALLY.

It’s been 6-weeks since I helped deliver my nephew in an emergency birth. This is little the little one on his birthday.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law came up to visit with the baby and I thought you’d want to see how much the little chubmeister has GROWN. He is SUCH a little love.

The website for my work is finally up. YAY! I love the design. It’s been a lot of hard work and I know I posted about it already, but our launch time was not the best (Friday afternoon) so I am trying to make up for the inferior time by yapping a lot about it. And I can’t help it…I’m like a proud parent. (Plus, you know…it’s also my job. ) I’m uber excited to start featuring the women in our magazine! (That happens the first week of December starting with our cover, Ree Drummond, “The Pioneer Woman”. ) Would love it if you’d head over and let me (and my boss *cough, cough* know what you think!) :)

Speaking of Ree…why don’t y’all rustle up some of her Skillet Cornbread. (It. is. TASTY.)

I adore Jane Austen. And BBC’s version of Emma is one of my very favorites. All the segments are here, if you care to view them :)

I love Jon Stewart with the power of a thousand burning suns. This photo pretty much sums up WHY. (And I totally want this on a tshirt.)
I have a weird thing for abandoned places and the Web Urbanist has a whole section on various abandoned places by categories like towns, schools, military bases, aircraft, ships…I could browse around for hours.

I laughed so hard at this post I pretty much stopped breathing for a good few minutes.

Because, really, can anything be weirder and more hilarious than someone offering Brett Favre a job in PENIS PUPPETRY??!!! (I sooooo wish I were making this up, but no. No, I’m not.)

And since we’re on this line of thought anyway, check out one of the best spoof sites I’ve seen in awhile: http://furnitureporn.com/ (The age warnings and agreements at the beginning slay me.)

It’s my last week of being an LG Text-Ed ambassador! I have had a lot of fun and some money was made for a great cause. I hope you’ll check out this last week’s section on teens and the dangers of Sexting. (OY VEY)

Someone actually built, and lives in, a Hobbit House. Obsessed, much?

Speaking of obsession, a sculptor in the UK spent thousands of hours and 15 years sculpting a recreation of Nelson’s ship, the HMS Victory, out of one of its oak beams. AMAZING.

18 Funniest costumes to get arrested in. This is my favorite:

In honor of Halloween I thought I’d put up this clip from The Corpse Bride. One of the weirdest compliments I’ve gotten is that I reminded people of the title character. Which is funny as I relate to her, oddly. And this little tidbit is my very favorite scene. (LOVE the song, too.)
As always on Sunday links day, comments are always welcome, but I’d much rather you spend your time and energy exploring new sites!
Till next week, y’all!
xo

I love John Stewart with the power of a thousand burning suns.
You should love him enough to spell his name right, yanno? ;-)
Sorry to be such a pedant. I can’t help myself.
All these years I’ve put an h in his name! Dang! I should be more sensitive as my name is rarely spelled correctly. And I’m married to a Jon!!!
Re: wood carving. Check this out – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYYFNff5e20&feature=player_embedded
I don’t know which is more impressive.
Re: cornbread. That sounds pretty standard. For a little extra tang to it, if you have to clabber your milk, try cider vinegar rather than white. And use bacon or sausage grease rather than shortening. Make sure your skillet is almost smoking hot.
Re: toys. It had to happen. We all know about “pervertables” standard household items that easily lend themselves to being used for…um…adult fun. So I guess it had to happen – some demented soul turning sex toys respectable. What is the world coming to?
Re: Jon Stewart. Another not very funny political comic. Ho-hum.
Here are two vids you might enjoy. The first one, the last minute or so is kind of poor quality, it gets blurry.

this second is funny and true.
The first one took a long time loading but I loved it…a good friend gets home from the middle east in a few days…made me teary. (More ppl should have been in the theater)
Nice tweaks on the recipe! And the moving parts in that train? WOW!
Re: toys– nah..tanis is not a demented soul–her son has severe disabilities and that toy is something he can actually see and hold. And well…i dont blame the hospital fir recommending it…sensory disorders are tough. If it works for people with it (or makes their really stressed care takers laugh) do I care what its intended use was? Nah, not really. But again, my boundaries are a bit looser than some. :)
We’ll have to disagree on Jon Stewart. I think he’s awesome. Xo
I am so making that pillow. It’s precious!
I HEART it.
My love for Jon Stewart also burns.
But not in that bad way love burns.
This love burn requires no cream.
But if it did I would just rub more love into it, like a love salve.
BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!
I can’t believe how BIG your nephew is! SO CUTE!!
I KNOW! He is a BRICK HOUSE!
Ok the baby is adorable but … He is SUCH a little love. There is nothing little about that squishable bundle!
Oh yeah and Jane Austen – the best ever.
LOL! He is a chunky monkey 2X4 for certain. I wuv him! And le sigh…I never tire of Austen. EVER.
