I have 1.5 days to convert this into a school room. Oy.

We’re turning the boy’s ‘game room’ into Christopher’s school room.

I use the term “game room” very lightly as it is ALSO the location of their spare dresser, bookcase, out-of-season clothes and what has morphed into an all-around dumping ground since we moved back last year.

I refer to it in my head as “The Den of Iniquity”. You can TOTALLY SEE WHY:

I try very hard to simply avoid this tween/teen stomping ground at ALL COSTS, but I can do so no longer.

It needs to be ready Monday. So do a whole lot of other work obligations.

I’m glad this room of my house is being tackled once and for all.

Wish me luck, because damn…

P.S. My favorite thing is the pair of underwear hanging out of the dresser drawer.  Ugh. Oh, well. It’s how it is.  You can accuse me of many things, but not being real isn’t one of them. Sigh.

:) this looks like my teens room (pre-teen girl though) Thankfully you don’t need much room to homeschool, although a cleaner room usually helps kid and mom’s mind not to wander as much

Yup. I really haven’t let myself care about this room. I’m too busy keeping control of our living space. We don’t have a garage or a much storage/closet space in the whopping 1,100 square feet we live in and it gets messy in the blink of an eye. Oy.

Good luck!! Hope it goes together fast! Just think of how good you’ll feel when it’s done… yeah, I don’t know why that feels good but it’s what people say to me all the time.

Get some caffiene and chocolate and lock yourself away in there (oh! with a movie on that tv!!) till it’s done! If nothing else it’s time to yourself.

Well, it’s not as though you need to sleep Loralee. ;)

At least, that is what I’ve heard about celebs!

Good luck!!! I converted a bedroom into a playroom a few months ago and it all came together fairly easily. I hope the same goes for you :)

Are you excited about the prospect of homeschooling?

You know, I am getting more and more and more excited about homeschooling. It’s unexpected for me because really…it was THE LAST THING I SAID I WOULD EVER DO.

      And yet?

I am really looking forward to it.

Not at first, we’re using a white board. BUT…I will likely do it when Butterlump is a bit older so he can have something to do while we’re in there.

Ahhhhh! Good Luck – that looks like my 13 year old’s bedroom. Setting up a school room is totally fun, though, and it makes it feel official!
Good thing you work with all those creative people – it will make it easy for you to put things in the room to engage his imagination! Have fun and Good luck!

Looks like a good two hours work should take care of the problem. I didn’t even notice the underwear until you pointed it out. It looks more like a t shirt sleeve from here.

Ah – when the work is done you are going to feel so good about it, in every way. Hope things continue to go smoothly. I tore apart just a small closet recently and – dayum – when it was done and I saw the crap I threw away…it was a great feeling.
