This is how I get through the bad times and look at the good, people. What about YOU?

Alrighty.

Enough of “The Tragedy of Loralee”.

It’s time to focus on the good and this is how I do that. (The fact that they are sideways just adds to the charm. Right? :P)

So, what about YOU?

What is GOOD in your neck of the woods?

Hahahaha! This reminds me of a Sunday school class I used to teach for 3 year olds. My day was “Using your feet for Jesus” and I asked the kids what their feet could do. One little boy said he could walk like a dinosaur and that is what we all did around the table…ostensibly for Jesus.

    Thanks for the smile :)

That first video is just precious – bounce or sleep, bounce or sleep, and the power of the zzzzzzz’s work every time. I remember my niece (who is now 17 – WTF??) falling asleep in her high chair in the middle of supper. Moments like that are why we don’t eat our young – we’d miss out on all the good stuff.

What’s good in my neighborhood? I’m 15 weeks pregnant with #3, the sun is shining and last week we paid off our car 18 months early. Not bad, not bad at all. Thanks for asking, BTW.

    It’s spring break here.
Which means the teenagers are home to help me with the little ones. YEAH!
It also means I just get to hang out with all of them, YEAH!
This is the last year of spring break for my oldest, he graduates in June. YEAH!
My daughter turns 3 on Saturday, YEAH!
My oldest son turns 18 next Tuesday, YEAH!. (But, ummm, how the heck did that happen? Hmm, bitter-sweet. Where the fuck was I when this was going on? Where did my curley headed, green-eyed wee bunky guy go. Where did this 6 foot 180 lb man come from? Oh, wait, he just licked my head. Same kid, it’s all good.)

I love the clip of your wee guy in his bouncy, “Must stay awake, bounce to stay awake, bouncing makes me soooo sleepy. Crap, flaw in plan. snnnnzzzz…..”

    Awesome! He is so adorable.

What’s good in my life right now? Nothing much is changing on the outside, but on the inside I’m finally starting to feel confident within myself. I feel something shifting that I can’t quite put into words, but it is very good.

Babies. There is just nothing better in the world than babies. Thank you for sharing yours. (And you do a fierce raptor impersonation! Whoa!)

  12. 12

:( The movies won’t load on my browser for some reason. There are two white blank boxes where they should be. I feel so out of the loop.

  13. 13

Nevermind. They loaded after I posted my comment. That first one could easily go on America’s Funniest Home Videos. He’s so sweet.

Good things – my 1 hour old nephew, Peter! thinking we are done having babies but coming up with 1 more really awesome little girl name that makes me want one, making the kiddos clean up the variety of spills from the afternoon, (have an active 2 year old!) so far they have sopped up chocolate ganache, pankcake syrup, cool whip and a fruit smoothie. Just realized this list does not say good things about the contents of my fridge, though!

Girlfriends, my non-surly kids (2 of 4) and a visit from the cleaning lady!

I’m just a little alarmed at that velociraptor noise you can make! (And if I ever get close to that baby, I’m going to eat him! He looks delicious!)

He’s so precious and makes me smile.

In my neck of the woods: We released the 2nd volume of my literary journal Epiphany today. Now I can breathe again.

I know YOU know that Butterlump is the.cutest.baby.ever. but if an outsider says it, then it’s true. I’m saying it.

I love focusing on the good! You have so much good. The opportunity to pick up organic produce, weekly…. the.cutest.baby.ever. Animated eyebrows(don’t ever get Botox!).

I have my produce. Delicious offspring… although the youngest isn’t a baby anymore and I do LOVE babies. I might have to ‘sneak one through the goalie’… LISTEN TO ME, you’d think I was a Mormon or something! 3 is good. 3 is plenty. Now I’m thinking of Good ‘N Plenty’s…. thanks a lot. I’m also looking forward to a no-kids, no-husband get-away in May…. CALGON!!!!

    I heart you.

    HUGS.

My husband has ALWAYS been there for me no matter what gets me down. His hugs, kisses, and just sitting with me during a rough patch are worth more to me than all the diamonds and furs you can show me! My son is the same way. He can put a good ‘spin’ on just about anything.
When you have a ‘cheering section’ like that, you can’t stay ‘down’ for very long!

Awesome video! I miss that age!

Lately my oldest son, almost 8, has been saying to me…”Mom? Know what I love most about you?” “No Dom, what?” “That you love me.”

    OMG!!! I just melt!!

And tonight he says that to me and I huged him and said “your my baby, but your getting so big!” “But I’m still smaller than you.” he said. “what will happen when you get bigger than me though?” I said.
Before I go on…are you ready???

He said “Then you’ll be MY baby mommy!” God I love him!!

    That’s what’s GOOD here!!

    Thanks Loralee!!

    Wendy :-D

My husband’s younger brother comes home from Iraq this week. There will be much happiness in our family, that’s for sure.

Here’s what gets me through the bad times:

My youngest is turning 4 in a few days. He is very excited about his birthday, and keeps telling me he’ll be 4, and then 5, and then 6, and then 7, and then 8, and then 9, and then 10…

At this point, I interrupt him and say, “oh no, I don’t think I can handle you being 10.”

He looks at me with a silly little face and shakes his head back and forth. Then he says, “Oh mommy, I will still LOVE YOU!”

And that, my dear, is what makes my day. Any day.

What’s good around my neck of the woods? My husband of 44 years has just retired (April 1st) after working for 44 years! Now we can bicycle every day together for miles and miles of smiles. We never grow tired from biking long distances together. Now if I can convince him to buy a tandem bicycle (one of those ‘built for two’)for us to ride we would make a great team he the Captain, I the Stoker.
