If it wasn’t such a big passionate topic I might agree with you. I don’t care for sports at all and am surrounded by everyone that REALLY does. Not just my family, the whole country. And many think those who don’t care are close to blasphemy.
So…ta-da.
Just because I don’t write a thesis about it but sum it up in a sentence does not make me desperate for traffic babe. It just means I felt like putting my opinion out here.
Ok well my apoligies if I hurt your feelings. That was rude of me, but you could have typed that all in your tweet. If I don’t have anything nice to say…I should just keep quiet. I’m going to work on that.:)
It’s just been a long day. I shouldn’t let things get to me and I get you. I do. Honestly, I just put the title of the post in and hit send.
But yeah…I can see where you would think it was misleading. Not my intent. Just the way I write. My apologies for the annoyance. We’ll call it good and shake on it. K? xo
All is good and Thanks for understanding my point. Your a
very nice lady and that’s why I continue reading! ;)
Have a good day.
P.S I just realized I also say “I could care less”…
Thanks for pointing that out!! ;)
No worries at all. Actually it does my faith in humanity good that stuff like this gets worked out. Speaks well of everyone. Made my day, actually, so thanks for that. I always have huge admiration for those that can talk out a difference.
I DO like the commercials. But I usually watch them online. The ONE time I watched the Super Bowl I saw the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake thing. So ya know…at least it was, um, interesting? :P
Sometimes it’s really good to be Polish :D No football at all, no baseball either…
…on the other hand, we’ve got soccer. People can be sooo nuts about it (worse, they sometimes become violent and that’s so not good). I always lived close to soccer, close to the National Stadium, where our national team plays other countries from time to time and where my city’s team plays other cities too, so I’m pretty used to people screaming and singing late at night on Saturdays (’cause soccer here is usually on Saturdays). Now when I live in Cracow it’s even worse, because Cracow itself has two soccer teams that hate each other. It’s better not to go out when they’re playing.
(But, living 15 minutes away from National Stadium has its advantages; big concerts usually take place there and even if I can’t afford to go there, I can always open my window and listen like that, when it’s the right wind :D)
Fortunately, my dad doesn’t watch soccer in TV, nor does my brohter, and I don’t have a boyfriend who would, so at least the doubtful pleasure of watching it in TV has been spared for me ;)
I care that it is, but I certainly get that many, many people don’t. I enjoy football, I enjoy the Super Bowl and I enjoy the commercials. But anyone who would say that you were going to Hell for offering that opinion is sad, indeed. ;-)
One of my bff’s sent me a mocking list of 10 reasons I was burning in hades for my dislike so it was said tongue in cheek. Although, not liking football is a disownable offense in some circles. :)
I’m similarly ambivalent, and have been for years.
Heck, with the online availability of the game’s commercials, I can skip watching television on this day entirely.
It’s a beautiful, sunny day outdoors where I live; the first after over a week of rainy days. I think I’ll go soak up some of that sun and fresh air. Cheers to all :)
It’s the superbowl today? Huh. Who knew? Luckily I’m married to an anti-sports guy. Gotta love that. Hell would be our kid wanting to play sports. Shudder…
I don’t care about football either. And I’m from Nebraska, where cheering on the Cornhuskers is practically the state religion.
(Also, I think you meant you could *not* care less about football…if you could care less that means you do care about it at least a small amount. I rather think you meant the opposite. ;-) Sorry, I’ll put my Annoying Editor Person hat away now.)
I hate football… and I might like the commercials but not enough to watch the game. Last year I DVR’d the game so I could fast forward to the commercials. LOL
HUGE sports fan here. Sorry, can’t help it. Lifelong addiction. Also, well, I’m a guy. Can’t do much about that either. I’m good friends with so many unsportstypes that it doesn’t faze me anymore. I don’t judge. Just don’t cringe and roll your eyes when I get excited about great plays and big wins.
Um, yeah. We’re watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Because my 3 year-old daughter is freaking the eff out about “DOGGIES!! DOGGIES!! LOOK, MOMMY! IT’S DOGGIES!!!” Which is pretty cute.
As much as I love New Orleans (and I do, it’s my mom’s hometown & I practically grew up there), I still don’t give a flip about watching a bunch of grown men beat the tar out of each other over a ball. I just don’t get the point.
i feel the same way. i hate sports and televised sports are the worst. my whole family is football crazed so the superbowl is big time around here. i just like everyone getting together and all the yummy food. i made a killer dip from noble pig; buffalo chicken dip. its a hit, so i am happy.
ps-i dont think your post was a “cheap” way to get traffic and thought it odd that the comment was made. your blog, your opinion.
Thank you. xo In her defense, I can see where she is coming from. I posted the title on Twitter (As I KNOW there are a lot of us out there and wanted some discussion…not that I think it was one of my best posts ever.)and I am sure she was expecting something serious to match the title and probably felt a little taken advantage of. It was NOT my intent.
I also just woke up to shitty emails in my inbox, so my mood was already taxed.
I stopped caring when the Patriots got knocked out. It’s so much more fun when your team is in it. It’s hard not to be a sports fan when you live in New England.
It would be a brilliant marketing strategy to have crazy sales on SuperBowl Sunday for all the non-sports fans.
I sat at the toy store while it was desperately slow, wondering where all the people were. Wasn’t until I got home and then it was…Oh. Ya. Superbowl. (oops).
We don’t care about the Superbowl here. Ever. Now if it was the Olympic gold medal game for hockey and Canada was in it…HELL YES. Or if was the Stanley Cup final and Vancouver was playing, yes. Football? Na.
No on in our house ever watches sports… and one thing that made me upset was the fact that a huge majority of the other TV channels ran crap! I suppose they thought everyone was watching the game! Oh well, to each his own…
I so agree with you. I don’t care for either team.
I hate football, so… *sits next to Loralee* ;)
Well, then there will be at least two of us :-)
Pretty desperate way to get traffic…just sayn ;)

I’m there for the Tequila… and the commercials! :)
I DO like the commercials. But I usually watch them online. The ONE time I watched the Super Bowl I saw the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake thing. So ya know…at least it was, um, interesting? :P
I don’t care about it because the Patriots aren’t in it. But we’ll probably be watching anyway.
I’m with you.
I wouldn’t even be watching had the Vikings made it. *gasp* Blasphemy!
It’s what?
I could care less than less. I find it annoying.

ciao,
Amy.
You know I’m right there with you sis!

you mean there’s ANOTHER fucking football game on today?
fuck, i thought we were done with that sport by now!
FUCK!
It’s the superbowl today? Huh. Who knew? Luckily I’m married to an anti-sports guy. Gotta love that. Hell would be our kid wanting to play sports. Shudder…
I feel like a traitor to my state, but I completely agree with you.
I’ve always enjoyed the commercials.
What I would not give to have the editor gene. Thanks for pointing it out sweets. Will change. :) xoxoxoxoxo
I am not a sports fan, either, except for the Olympics.
It looks like I’ll have quite a bit of company as we all burn together in what will probably be a giant football stadium. :P
Seriously, why isn’t TODAY a big shopping day for retailers like Black Friday? I totally want to shop today but I’m stuck at home with the kids!
I hate football… and I might like the commercials but not enough to watch the game. Last year I DVR’d the game so I could fast forward to the commercials. LOL
WHAT?? First the Twilight and now this? You are going against the crowd on some super important issues on here, friend!
[I am totally just kidding. Thought it was pretty funny.]
*oops, the Twilight POST. I need to borrow your “Annoying Editor Person”.
NOPE. I know you love sports and don’t eyeroll when you get all excited. :) xo
Ouch!
I don’t care that others care, I just don’t. (And wish there was more going on outside of it today.) :)
Um, yeah. We’re watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Because my 3 year-old daughter is freaking the eff out about “DOGGIES!! DOGGIES!! LOOK, MOMMY! IT’S DOGGIES!!!” Which is pretty cute.

Thanks, though…your dip sounds deeeelish. xo

Football is just not as big up here in the North.
You are in good company. The only thing exctiting to me about the Superbowl is that it marks the end of football season!
No on in our house ever watches sports… and one thing that made me upset was the fact that a huge majority of the other TV channels ran crap! I suppose they thought everyone was watching the game! Oh well, to each his own…
And the only reason I even watch the game is for the ads. And this year? Why, this year, they sucked!
I heard there was a football game on TV yesterday. I forgot to watch it. :)
You and me both sister! Football is weird.
But …NASCAR starts on Sunday. Now that’s something I can get excited about.
You could just love the day because it was my husband’s 30th birthday! :)
