The cool thing about blogging is that it often leads to other cool opportunities. People can write or edit for other sites or in my case tweet and write. For the past few months, I’ve been participating in BlogHer’s Family Connections citizen journalism project as a Momspotter. Basically that means I tweet a few times a day with the #momspotting hashtag about how I use technology in my day-to-day parenting life.

They sent us this meme to do and since it is a well known fact that I loves me a good meme, I am all over that bidness.
If you like the meme, feel free to do one yourself and leave a link in the comments or tweet it with the #momspotting hashtag.
1. Which expensive electronic device do you most often let your older children abuse or your baby drool on? Butterlump is very fond of my phone but the boys live and die by the Wii. (Although the desktop is catching up since their father introduced them to D&D online. Damn him.)
2. How many take-out restaurant numbers do you have programmed into your phone? Two. Which is great considering the number of take out restaurants where I live.
3. How many hours of television do you so totally not let your kids watch a week? I never, ever, EVER let my kids watch TV. I also have some land in Florida you might be interested.
4. Do you think people who say “we don’t watch television” at playdates but really mean “we just watch DVDs” are lying liars from Liarville? What is this “playdate” you refer to? Um…yeah, I don’t do those, really. I may change my tune when Butterlump gets older, but yeah…dunno. I have a little bit of social and phone anxiety.
5. How many miles have you driven with your child and not one device of electronic entertainment in a single car trip? 12 hours each way. My kids have only been more “tech hooked up” in the last few years. And you know what? They lived.
6. What’s your record for calls to the pediatrician or Ask-a-Nurse in a single day? Six. Did I mention that I was a bit of a major stress case when Aaron was born?
7. What’s the sexiest thing your husband/partner could text you after a hard day? I AM BRINGING DINNER HOME WITH ME.
8. What’s your favorite iPad joke? I can’t even afford an ipod right now, let alone an ipad, so meh…I was over the jokes before the started really.
9. What’s the dumbest parenting tool, gear, gadget or device you ever bought? Portable bottle warmer. So not usable for us.
10. How many years will it take for your child to become more tech-savvy than you? Yeah, they already are. I long for the days of the Nintendo with two buttons and some arrows. Sigh.

Great answers! I might do this at some point! I wondered what all your #momspotting tweets were about. Now I know. I feel so enlightened.
