Being true to yourself is the most important thing. I'm proud of you, not for joining my adopted party, but for being you. I left the party of my youth years ago after I had my first child (and actually gave it some thought) and haven't regretted it one bit! I'm disappointed by politics in general but at least my ideology is being respected. Welcome to the left, where the donkey poop is smaller than the elephant's. I can only imagine how difficult it must be in your situation (where you live, jon’s strong viewpoints, in-laws, etc.). Being true to yourself is the most important thing.
