Confession: I LIKE MEMES.
Seriously, I know that many turn their noses up at them, but not me.
I saw this one from Melain (a SERIOUSLY beautiful person who owns one of the most lovely Coach bags I have ever seen) and liked it.
I know I have other posts that need to be written and there may be lonely crickets chirruping in the comments section but honestly, it’s been a hell of a week and even though everyone is doing SO much better, I’m still in the suck of whiplash and feel like I am thinking through a pillow with these muscle relaxers, so writing a post is beyond me at the moment. I like memes but loathe tagging so go ahead and participate if you want in the comments or on your own blog, tell me if we have anything in common or just ignore it. Whatever makes you happy, my peeps.
THE ABC’S OF ME
A – ADVOCATE FOR: Kindness and non-asshat behavior on the internet, gay marriage, health care reform and bringing the classic junior high school taunt “RENOB” back into the common vernacular.
B – BEST FEATURE: I can be funny. Also, my eyes and “the girls” are pretty dang awesome.
C – COULD DO WITHOUT: Cankles, and having the muscle tone of headcheese, asthma, back injury and general health suck, and crushing debt. Also, I really would like to petition for Muzak to be eradicated from the earth.
D – DREAMS & DESIRES: They’re pretty simple- I’d like a comfortable home, enough money to have the necessities and some fun extras for my family, good health, deep love and friendship. If all that is too much I’d settle for just having some peace.
E – ESSENTIAL ITEMS: Diet Coke (duh), something sweet, music, lipstick/gloss, mascara, pajama pants, long sleeve tissue-weight tshirts, cell phone, laptop, internet.
F – FAVORITE PAST TIME: SLEEPING, I lurve all things about blogging (except for shitty people you encounter. The only down side of it). I adore reading and being with people. (Though I hermit often), and honestly? I love TV. It’s a dirty word to people but it’s a lovely escape. I probably escape too much, but it’s just who I am.
G – GOOD AT: I’m a decent cook, a great singer, an adequate writer. I have an amazing ability to pull things off when I really, really want to and almost always find something genuinely interesting about the person I’m conversing with. I can almost always make you smile.
H – HAVE NEVER TRIED: Going organic or really anything, “Crunchy”. I’m curious about it, but the options for doing so where I live aren’t that awesome. Also…I would love to make a goal to be very healthy and stick to it for an entire year with the hope that it turns into a lifetime habit. I am very bad at it.
I – IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS: Pay off debt, buy a house, pay back my parents for all their kindness and invest the rest. If there’s enough left over, I would take my entire family on a really great vacation together.
J – JUNKIE FOR: Aside from Diet Coke, I love eating Golden Grahams and Cracklin Oat Bran by the handful out of the box, and usually obsess about a “Treat” that I rotate from time to time. Currently, it would be Hostess SnowBalls.
K – KINDRED SPIRIT: I’ve been blessed to have people in my life who like me exactly as I am. Also, I think that all babies and I have a deep understanding.
L – LITTLE KNOWN FACT: I’m an identical twin. I don’t talk about her here because it’s not the greatest relationship. I also skipped the 3rd grade.
M – MEMORABLE MOMENT: The birth of my kids, the first time I soloed in front of an orchestra, looking up and seeing Big Ben unexpectedly when I stepped out of the underground, realizing I had just been invited to The White House, having a picnic in a car wash. All were amazing.
N – NEVER AGAIN WILL I: Try to give birth without an epidural. It about killed me. Also, I will never again attempt to be a blond or have boy short hair. It’s just wrong.
O – OCCASIONAL INDULGENCE: I will do something pampering like a massage, pedicure and/or facial. It is HEAVENLY and can turn my mood around like magic. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE splurging on a great restaurant.
P – PROFESSION: Mom, blogger, singer, thinker of silly thoughts.
Q – QUOTE: “I don’t even own a piece of shit, I have to envy yours” (SAVE FERRIS!)
R – REASON TO SMILE: The snoring little baby laying next to me that is FINALLY sounding so much better, going out for Indian Food with my husband and a long awaited email in my inbox.
S – SORRY ABOUT: Being a shitty friend with a short attention span, hurting others and being a too laid back mom and horrible house keeper. Also, I would personally like to apologize to my college room mates for playing “Calling Baton Rouge” by Garth Brooks on repeat eleventyBILLION times.
T -THINGS THAT ARE WORRYING YOU RIGHT NOW: My friend Sandi is adopting the sibling of her littlest, Ellie. Sailor Grace was born yesterday in Salt Lake and they had to life flight her to Primary Children’s Hospital. We are all terribly worried. Please keep her in your thoughts and pray for them. NO mother should go through that with her baby. It’s beyond terrifying.
I’m also worried about money and bills and loved ones, but that isn’t exactly new.
U – UNINTERESTED IN: Sports. I can’t stand them. I don’t mind going to live games, but really…I could so live without them. I’ve also never been terribly interested in crafts, though I admire those that have that kind of tactical skill.
V – VERY SCARED OF: Spiders, flying, heights, the dark, failure, and people dying and/or leaving.
W – WORST HABITS: Being a crappy housekeeper and totally sucking at laundry. I have a rather dependent personality and I’m increasingly self focused. Those things blow.
X – X MARKS MY IDEAL VACATION SPOT: THE UK. I loved it. Adored it. Want to marry it and have little UK flag babies. I love to travel and research a place. Knowing all the little nueances of a place adds to the exhiliration and thrill of visiting. Next up: Italy.
Y – YUMMIEST DESSERT: There was this amazing pudding in Inverness, Scotland that my friend, Chelle ordered. After that, the chocolate mousse I ordered at Circus Circus in Reno was AMAZING. The most unusual but devine dessert I had was at Retro Bakery in Las Vegas…Maple Bacon Cupcakes. YUMMMY. If you are in Vegas and have a chance to visit, I highly recommend going to visit.
Z – ZODIAC SIGN: Scorpio. My horoscope often just makes me want to stay in bed. The is the weirdest sign out of them all, IMO. One minute we’re cold as ice and solitary as an oyster, the next we’re the life of the party and passionate as all get out. It’s exhausting, really.
WHAT ARE THE ABC’S OF YOU?

P.S. I know that I haven’t written part #2 of my story. The fallout from part #1 really sucked and sent me into a bit of a spiral along with the rest of the things that hit me this month. I have got to be in a better place before I write it. It wasn’t my intent to string it out, but I think if I went there right now it would be…bad. I will finish it though. Promise.
P.P.S. Health wise, we are doing much better.Aaron has turned a corner, though still sick. Jon and the boys are better. My neck is healing and I start Physical Therapy soon.
P.P.P.S. No word on my car. I am stranded in the day. It’s hard knowing you are trapped. I hate it.
I totally get the needing to be in a better place. Take your time hon.
Great answers for this meme by the way. I’m a bit of a meme junkie myself. Thanks for this!
I’ve had some memes that I thought would be hilarious for you to get your hands on-but sending them to bigger bloggers is a no-no.
Understand all about the suckitude and wanting to write about something else. I’d rather something new on the page than nothing…
Hang in there!
Most of my bloggity friends don’t do them (Big and small). I rarely do, but I like reading them and usually start replying in my head. My dirty little secret. :)
I wouldn’t mind doing memes you send, but would probably put it on Facebook.
I just felt like “Sticking it to the man” today and doing one.:)
So glad you are all starting to feel better – now if that pesky whiplash would just go away…
And also, I had to look up “RENOB” cause I didn’t get it. LOSER!
Hehehehehe, it was huge in MY middle school, doesn’t mean everyone used it. For all I know it was a Utah thing. We’re rebels, we are. ;P
Yup. Like you JUST like you are.
great answers. I have to agree with you about being a scorpio. It IS exhausting.
I LIKE this meme. Good to hear you’re healing after the accident.
I love memes, so I stole this one and did it on my blog. :)
Glad to hear all of you are feeling better!
Sounds like you deserve a treat:

I’m thinking about doing the meme. Just thinking.

I, too am a secret lover of memes – in moderation. I get annoyed when I get tagged on facebook for one I just did but was slightly different. I always just say go read the other one. I’m too lazy to fill it out again.
When I saw on twitter that you were going to post one I almost jumped with joy that I wasn’t going to be alone. I’ve had one sitting in my draft posts for awhile but didn’t have the courage to post it and risk be shunned by my ones of readers (who I think is just my Mom). Thanks for giving me courage.
I’m with you on a lot of of those ABC’s, but especially V and W. I would have written the exact same thing for those.
Hope you feel better soon.
I like a good meme every now and then. I look forward to reading part 2 of your work. It’s hard to share your truths. Thanks for doing that.
Meme’s are cool.
And Golden Grahams rock! I am glad I stumbled in you via Mind of a Mad Woman….
whoa, whoa, WHOA hold on a minute there, sister! You mean, we’re not only both long-waisted, tall, brunette, Factor V Leiden-carrying Mormon chicks, but we’re also both Scorpios??!?!?! Um… maybe I’m you’re doppleganger! only I’m completely tone deaf and I’m pretty sure your boobs are better, so looks like you got the better side of the deal!
Oh, I could totally help you with H!
It’s all about baby steps and small changes.
I live in one of the MOST un-environmentally friendly places and trust me there are ways and they can be painless and fun too!
I, too, love meme’s (what does MEME stand for anyways!?!? LOL)!!
I’m a Scorpio (November 13). I 100% agree with your tiring scorpio stand point. I fit the scorpio description to a T, and it is tiring, for sure!
You are uninterested in sports? I don’t think we can be pals anymore, dude. It just…can’t happen. Teasing!
Memes are totally a cop out and easy but sometimes, but who doesn’t need that once in a while? They do reveal some pretty cool information about the person sometimes too, so I’ll forgive you. And proceed to copy you.
I copied this Meme… If you wanted to check it out, it’s here…

Okay, you need to add that you want to apologize to your readers for now getting “Calling Baton Rouge” stuck in their heads. Thanks!
Whoa Ooooooperator won’t you put me on through, I gotta send my….
Confession: I like memes too. Also, Cracklin’ Oat Bran is the BEST CEREAL EVER INVENTED. Except that they do not sell it in Canada. But, I have a US friend that sends me a box every once in a while. I love her.
I said ME TOO to so many of these ABCs it was kind of weird.
xoxo
Hee Hee… you said “The Girls”…. I have been thinking about boobs lately since I heard “Texas Twins” the other day and I thought what a great name that would be for me if I had a great rack… which I don’t… BUt anyway,
Maybe you could call yours “Twin Peaks” since you live in mountainous Utah. Or something funny that pokes fun at Mormons. Not offensive, just funny. Of course, I’m sure it would offend them.
Okay, I better stop typing now.
I am totally stealing this meme for my blog. Thanks in advance for allowing me to do it. And if you are trying to say “no, David, you can’t copy me, then my response is LA LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU LA LA LA”.
Hugs-
D
Just wanted to leave a quick comment… I found you through Sandi’s blog awhile back and have enjoyed reading you! Thanks for writing Loralee! I’m up here in Cache Valley as well, so give a holler if you ever need anything!
I did this meme too. I like to do them also but not if they are lame and ask for dumb things like your favorite color or something. This was a good one… thanks for posting it!
I have heard so much good about you. That was fun to read. I am a Scorpio too, I thought it was a great description of myself. It was nice to meet you.
