D-Day

Dear awesome bloggity people,

I’m heading off to the hospital with Jonathan in a few minutes.  My contractions have been coming consistently since the wee small hours of the morning. Since I’ve never been wrong before, I am confident I won’t be sent back home. (You never know, though. I may be sent back home and have to eat my words. I’ll be totally embarrassed, but ya know…that’s life.)

I have been wondering how to handle the whole “birth” thing with the internet in regards to who to tell when and what.  Part of me wants to keep quiet until Aaron is here because I want the biggest SQUEES! from meh peeps to be saved for when you can all fawn over his arrival and tell me how cute he is (because he totally will be, yo).

Also, my labors, deliveries and recoveries can get tricky, difficult and long and I don’t like leaving people hanging in worry. Which may very well happen.

But I have had so many people tell me they really, REALLY want to know when my labor starts that I am going save myself the insanity of trying to email or text everyone and go ahead and give you the heads up that we’re heading to the hospital.

I’m not going to have other people blog, email, text or twitter for me. I hope that’s ok. Very little has gone according to what I want to have happen with this whole process and the one things I am adamant about is that I get to break the happy news MYSELF.

Meaning?

You won’t hear from me until he’s here and I feel well enough to update my blog on my own.

So, it may be a little while till you hear anything.

Morbid as it may sound, I do have a “blogging will” set in place because of my past experiences. Realism sucks but is necessary. So, if something were to go horribly wrong you WILL get an update from somebody, so please don’t overly worry.

So as it is…it looks like this baby is going to be born on Jonathan’s birthday.

It’s the best present I could think to give him.

You people have been so good to me during this whole experience. Someone has ALWAYS been there for me. Seriously, I don’t think I could have gotten through without y’all.

xoxo

Loralee

P.S. Jon just got a text from our son, Christopher. He’s at his grandma’s and it says, “Hi, dad. This is your son, Christopher. I am really worried about mom.”  Seriously, how sweet is that? I love my boys. They will be great men.

P.P.S. The real reason for this labor is that I am petty and just couldn’t take the jealousy of Backpacking Dad hogging all the bloggity birth spotlight. If you haven’t said congratulations to him and his wife on the birth of their gorgeous new son, you can go squee at him here. (Or here.)

P.P.P.S. Thank god I got my hair done and toe nails painted and all grooming finished. I would have hated to give birth looking like a homeless Yetti.

P.P.P.S To my BlogHer roomie and Utah bloggity BFF Sarah: THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR FOLLOWING YOUR ADVICE AND PUTTING OUT FOR MY HUSBAND ON HIS BIRTHDAY!

P.P.P.P.S. I’m really tired. And scared shitless. Wish me luck.

LOL @ the putting out post-script. It never fails to put you into labor, especially when you’re that close to your due date. Same thing happened to me. Tell your DH that it’s a good thing he got laid the night before cause he won’t be getting any for a LOOOOONG time.

Wishing you a speedy and healthy delivery and a painless recovery. Wait… I mixed those up. You get the idea.
