Sideblog: Do-re-mi-fa-so-Little House on the Prairie….

It is not a secret that I have a bit of an obsession with “Little House on the Prairie”, both books and television show.  I used to read them every single night before bed for like, two years straight. (I will not cop to how old I was when I did this…COUGH,24,COUGH, COUGH, COUGH!)

I believe I even recently copped to my love when a reader asked if I knew how to milk a cow because I live in Cache Valley, Utah. (Sadly, I don’t.)

So, I about fell over when I read that there is a LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE MUSICAL and it is going on tour.

Sweeeeeeet!

I wonder if the actor they cast as Pa Ingalls will have curly Micheal Landon fro’? At the very least he should have his abs and they should include a scene where he gets his ribs broken by a rolling mill wheel so that he has to have his shirt off.

I’m just sayin’…

Man… I hope the musical doesn’t suck if I somehow can go see it. I’m so curious now!

    I’m right there with ya!
When my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my reply was I wanna be a Pioneer!… or pump gas.

*sigh* I have always been kinda strange.

My crush was Almanzo Wilder in Farmer Boy – my favorite in the series. I’m trying to wrap my head around the idea of a musical version.

I never watched Little House. Honest. I know. That makes me a communist or something but it’s true. However, I HAVE been to Laura Ingall’s birthplace cabin in Pepin, WI (actually, it’s a reconstruction) and the nearby cheese factory sells GREAT cheese curds. Which is what I think of every time someone mentions Little House. Cheese Curds.

Me too! When I was in high school, I even bought the episode with Laura and Almanzo’s wedding on VHS. I can’t wait for the musical…

I’m going to have to tell KC about this. She loves Little House on the Prairie and musicals.

That is SO cool. I can’t wait to see the Vegas version. Nellie Olsen in pasties? Yep, that’s some Walnut Creek bad girl for ya.

I begged my husband to name our son Landon and after a difficult delivery, he said, “Whatever you pick is fine.” Every once in awhile, I still enjoy the reruns and I truly think I married a man very similar to Michael Landon’s character. (Great dad, loves to fish and dance, never complains about my cooking!)

I share your love for Little House! I recently read the series to my boy just as an excuse to re-read them. :)

I loved the Little house show on tv. I bought the entire set of Little House books for my kids at a flea market in paperback, for $10 way back when they were young, just so I could read them. And my son’s first crush was on Melissa Gilbert’s character, Laura Ingalls.

I LOOOVE all things Little House. If I’m flipping channels, I definitely stop whenever it’s showing. I must have seen every episode. Read all the books too. I hope I get to see the musical. So great!!!

I never watched the show, but I do love the books. I am rereading them right now (44), because Santa brought them for my daughter, and I realized that I did not remember enough about them. They do stand the test of time! I love them!

A bit unusual, but mostly, a very good story.
