Sideblog: Eco-friendly Etsy Shop

March 3, 2009

One of my very first bloggity readers from Bemidji State University has opened an Etsy shop and I thought I’d give her a plug and a shout out. Sharon is probably the sweetest people alive. She was a teacher for years and years, went back to school as a grey-haired co-ed and uses her sewing talents to help a charitable organization called “The Linus Project” to make blankets for kiddies in need.

Sharon’s shop is just getting started but she already has quite a few things up. She uses machine embrodiary on most of her peices and adds finishing touches like buttons to give some of her pieces a rustic country feel. She also uses recycled materials from estate sales ect. so many of her items have a cute retro look.

Go give her a browse :)

Stumble it!
