I have been pondering the same thing. It’s unsettling to see someone who did their job so well and, in my opinion, was at the height of his career turn into someone who clearly is not in their right mind. He can’t be because face it, what other “rapper” is?

When that picture *finally* loaded, it actually elicited an audible “Awww man, what the *fark* is that?!” My husband looked at me like I’d gone crazy, then when he looked past me at the screen, I saw his face change from the “my wife is crazy” face to the “Ohmifarkinggod whatthefarkizthaaaat?!” look.
“That’s Joaquin Phoenix,” I told him. His head tilted a bit, and he gave me his apologetic, “you’re right” face.
Rumour has it (I have no idea how true this is), that he is pretending to have a breakdown, switching to (bad) music, so his brother in law Casey Affleck can film it as a mockumentary.
