Awesome tshirt idea.

November 30, 2008

I totally think it would be awesome to have a maternity shirt that said:

“Miserable, vomitous mass.”

Heh.

P.S. The Princess Bride has to be one of the most awesomely quotable films of all time. I heart it.

P.P.S. It’s right up there with Monty Python and the Holy Grail , which is also awesome.

P.P.P.S. And just to see how many times I can use the word “AWESOME” in a one paragraph post, I will also say that Ferris Buller’s Day Off is TOTALLY awesome AWESOME in this category as well.

P.P.P.P.S. If you type “Awesome” a whole bunch of times it totally starts looking like it’s spelled wrong. It’s like some freaky old Jedi mind trick played on your eyes. Awesome, huh?

Stumble it!

    It’s possible. Pig.

  • Holly says:

Just to prove your point, Princess Bride and Holy Grail are the ONLY movies I can quote!

  • Sharon says:

    Hee! I love the idea!

I totally agree – Princess Bride is definitely the most quotable movies ever! My brother and I used to see how much of the movie we could quote while we were on long road trips as kids. Drove my parents nuts!

  • Suzanne says:

The first two are among my top five movies of all time.

Carving the turkey “Have you the wing?”

Yes, that would make a great T shirt. As for me, I have a tshirt that states “Hello, My name is Inigo montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.”

  • I think “Rodents of Unusual Size” might work for a maternity shirt, too. (Or is that just my personal feeling about pregnancy, now that I’m DYING to deliver this kid and she is not cooperating by coming?)

  • Bahahahaha! Genius. I’d totally buy one. And all of those are just so happily quotable.

  • ROFL! Just read Missives from Suburbia’s comment. :D

  • I love T-shirts with whitty sayings. And I have seen a couple of those movies but I suck at remember lines from them.

  • Rachel says:

    “As You Wish”

Quite possibly one of my all time favorite movies, ever.

You can purchase printable sheets ( printing from your computer) and then you iron them on. They are way cheap. Daughter designed the choir shirts for school and when they were at their retreat, everyone got to iron their own shirt. I say find a truly gross graphic, bold font and go for it!

  • My fav PB quote (which is used all too frequently by me)

    Son of a motherless goat!

  • Amen on those movies. AWESOME!

And I think just about any word starts to look wrong the more times you type/write it. That’s just the magic of the English language!

  • Karen says:

I love love love the totally awesomest of awesome movies, The Princess Bride. As you wish…

  • Seriously. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is quoted in our house constantly..
That is one of the best movies EVER!!!

    Bring out ya dead!
But I’m not dead..I’m feeling much better!

  • Lisa says:

In our family we often say goodbye with “Have fun storming the castle!”

And our ugly, 50’s meets 70’s red, yellow and orange basement family room is called the Pit of Despair.

  • loralee says:

    @Lisa

I almost choked on the brownie I was eating when I read about the “Pit of Despair”.

Every house should have one of those.

    Heh.

  • Kelley says:

I beg to differ. Life of Brian is the most awesomest movie of all time. And I can quote the whole damn thing. AND use the quotes in everyday conversation and crack myself up.

And once as a teen I spent a full half hour staring at the word ‘with’. It just looked wrong. Pity it was during an exam eh?

  • lceel says:

I think it would be totally AWESOME if said baby in the oven, when said baby was done and stuff and ready to present to the world, if said baby had a little baby tee shirt that said “I am living proof that Mommy puts out.”

    See? AWESOME!

  • Inigo says:

    Hello.

    My name is Inigo Montoya.

    You killed my father.

    Prepare to die.

yup, bride, grail, and ferris rock.

  • Kristi says:

Two of the best movies ever! We can’t go to a wedding without doing the “Maviage is what brings us here today.”

Our old pastor looked identical to the Sicilian. I waited for him to say inconcievable. Probably better that he never did because I would have been in hysterics.

Oh, and we often tell the kiddos to never start a land war in Asia.

  • JoeInVegas says:

Wow, twenty comments and I expected all of them to say (and only four did)

    Awesome!

    Go for the shirt.

  • Erin W. says:

Man… I LOVE ALL of the movies you’ve listed… Actually, The Princess Bride is also, among being a favorite all time movie of mine, one of my very favorite books. I don’t know if anyone else out there has read it, but it is absolutely AMAZING!
BTW – It’s hilarious that you mentioned the Grail as a great quotable movie… I was just telling a pregnant buddy of mine (who is currently sharing my woe of pregnancy gas – yuck) that I fart in her general direction. It was pretty funny.

  • 180/360 says:

I would’ve bought one of those when I was pregnant! :)

  • You need to start a cafe press store for that one!

  • Mad Woman says:

I think the only other movie that I can quote as much as Princess Bride and Monty Python and the Holy Grail is…Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Which is rather sad considering it couldn’t hold a candle to either of the first two.

“There’s a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours. “

  • The Princess Bride is the most AWESOME-EST movie EVAH.

  • Kerri Anne says:

    “As you wish.”

    Princess Bride, forever.

  • Erin says:

My husband and I always misquote that as “you vomitless mass”.

And we frequently tell each other to “Have fun storming the castle.” We’re just starting to get our 3-year-old in on the fun. She was trying to say the lines along with us as she and my husband were leaving for church, but was mangling them.

  • Rachael says:

Isn’t that weird how words start to not make sense when you say/write them a lot?

Come over to my place – I have an award for you!

  • Jim says:

I still remember the first time I saw “The Princess Bride” in college. I think we watched it in heavy rotation with “Heathers.”

  • Steve says:

Our 3 year old says “Have fun storming the castle!” instead of goodbye, so I’m right there with you.

But I’ve always quoted “Life of Brian” more. “To be in the PFJ you have to really hate the Romans. I do. Alright, you’re in.”
