Read or written a great post? Would you like to see it re-published in a blog magazine? Let me know about it!

I am pleased to announce that I am a new editor for BlogNosh Magazine.

I have to confess that besides the fact that it is just a groovy place that makes me hungry every time I visit it, it is edited by two of my veeeery favorite bloggity people on the planet: Editor-in-Chief, Megan of Velveteen Mind and Managing Editor, Jennifer of Playgroups are no place for children. (I love these two. I wanted to take them home in my purse after BlogHer, but I don’t know how much they would appreciate suddenly being transplanted to Utah. Heh.)

What is BlogNosh?  Well, I could tell you, but they have such a great discription on their “About” page, that I will give it to you straight from the horse’s mouth.

Blog Nosh Magazine is an online magazine dedicated to promoting the best archived posts from our own personal blogs.

You know those really great posts you wrote before anyone was reading your blog? The ones you try to pimp out in your sidebar’s “Dear God, Please Read These Before You Judge Me for Writing About My Allergies 4 Days in a Row!” section? Yeah, those.

If it has fallen off of your front page (”archived”) and you love it, then we will be noshing on it!

Blog Nosh Magazine is different from those blogs who choose weekly or monthly round-ups of great posts in that we republish the full post, not just the headline or title. We feel this greatly increases your chance of building your audience, as they have an opportunity to sample or “nosh on” your writing before clicking through.

“Noshing”: Yiddish for indulging in a snack or light meal. Commonly heard today in British slang.

I’ll be editing The Personal channel and will be scouring the Internet for blog posts that I can submit for publication. Editing for The Personal channel is just what is sounds like: I look for blog posts of a personal nature, get permission to republish them on BlogNosh (With full credit) and submit them for publication. The personal channel has a really broad spectrum that really can include almost ANY topic and variety of emotion, so I am tickled to death with the assignment.

We’re encourage to place a call for posts to our readers, so I thought I would shout out that I am looking for great posts to read that I could submit for BlogNosh to consider.

This isn’t a guarantee of acceptance, but since I’ve only submitted one post so far, I have a lot of reading to get done.

Have you read something that has moved you, inspired you, made you crack up with laughter?  Let me know about it by putting a link in the comments or emailing me through my comments form.

Have you written a post or four that you are really proud of?  That is HIGH QUALITY and something truly special? That you know should get a wider audience and that you feel shines brighter than the others?  Give me a link in the comments or through email.

If you have more questions about what BlogNosh magazine is or if you are looking for FAQ’s about the submission and publication process, this link should be helpful.

Link away, people! I would love to read what you’ve got!

This is amazing–the fact that such a job exists, AND the fact that you HAVE the job, and ALSO the fact that such a website has been created. I can guarantee you will be hearing from me, because this is an excellent deal, and I was not raised to pass up deals.

I am humbled by those of you emailing me with really great links! Do not be embarrassed to submit your own work (and it is totally ok to email them if you don’t want to leave them in the comments. Most, ok ALL so far, have gone that route. Either is fine with me!)

    You guys are grand.

This seems like the perfect job for you, at the perfect time. SO glad you’re doing this. I’m pretty sure I’m not BlogNosh material, but I might submit a post or two. Or not.

Either way, congrats on the new gig! I can’t wait to see what posts you find!

  11. 11

    Congratulations!

I’ll keep it in mind – I know I’ve read lots of “personal” posts over this past year that were really great.

Ooh boy, I’d have to go into my archives and look. I know there’s got to be at least one or two in the 700-ish posts that I think is nosh-worthy.

    Congratulations!

Congrats on your new post! I just can’t bring myself to push my posts beyond twitter though. I’ll look for other people’s posts though.

CONGRATS! What a fun job to have!

May I nominate my special self? I have nothing poignant, in fact, what’s the opposite of poignant? Oh–that would be me.

I like this one about Middle School Gym Class:

Or Maybe one from my Bed-Wetting/Electric Boogaloo Series:

    I love you! You’re pretty! :-)~

Oh yes! One I’ve read recently is a new blogger named Ordie. The blog is called Life Is Just A Bowel Full Of Cherries. The post I’d love you to look at is My Book At Last here http://lifeisjustabowelofcherries.blogspot.com/2008/10/my-bookat-last.html

I have to enthusiastically stress that Blog Nosh Magazine thrives on direct submissions. No shame in this game: SUBMIT YOUR OWN BEST POSTS!

Don’t think you are “Blog Nosh material”? Then write something nosh-worthy (for your own blog first!) and submit it to us. By the time we publish it, it will have been archived from your front page and wanting some fresh air, anyway.

All that being said, yes, 100% absolutely Loralee is perfect for the Personal Channel. She’ll be a fabulous editor and we are proud to have her.

(and it doesn’t hurt that she’s helping to spread the word about us because people still don’t know what we’re doing over here at Blog Nosh… new concepts… oy!)

Thanks, Loralee! So proud to have you!

This is the post I wrote about the MVD. Who doesn’t love a good MVD post? Rereading it to this day, I can feel those same emotions of seething, loathing anger.

Congrats girl! That is awesome. Reading the best of the best and then telling others about it? Like being the popular girl in the lunch room *snort*

You read my favourite post the other day, alas I think the swearing would prevent it from being featured. I think every post I write would be under that category. Do you think they would consider a ‘foul mouthed, fabulous heeled Aussie chick’ section? Cause I would be totally all over that shizz.

The post I’m going to link to actually turned me on to this chick. It really moved me, and despite anyone’s political views, I think if you’re open hearted it should be able to move you too. (If that makes sense)
So – here it is: http://queenofspainblog.com/2008/10/28/i-dont-know-his-name/

Hope you enjoy it. I don’t personally really blog myself… nothing worth noting at least. Otherwise I might give you something of my own.

Well, since you solicited, I think I wrote an okay one the other day:
    http://wigglerooms.blogspot.com/2008/11/matters-of-life-and-death.html

And I just read this great post from a lifelong friend and foodie in Seattle:

And here are a couple from my archives that I am still rather proud of.

OH! And while I’m at it, if you haven’t read Kate of the Blankie Chronicles, you must. She’s publishing at Up North now too, but here’s a gem from her archives. She’s the next Catherine Newman, I think.

Hi Loralee! I adore your blog. Don’t go changin’ K…now that *you are somebody* :) And congrats on your new gig! Couldn’t have gone to a better person.

I have a homely blog about the amazetastic life of a hippie chick named Moon in small town Mid-West. Most of it is just bloggy stuff, although I think occasionally I pull out some awesome stuff, but not “nosh” worthy.

However,I *do* have a separate page with fiction I have written. Is that anything to be considered? If not, meh, I’ll live. If so, here it is. It’s a short story that believe it or not took me two years to get to this final completion!

    http://analogmoon.wordpress.com/the-things-i-think-up/

hugs and bestest of luck to you!
