Because nothing says “Election Day!” like a urinary tract infection.

November 4, 2008

Apparently, I’ve had it for quite some time, but due to a miscommunication, I only found out yesterday. I’m relieved in a way because I was beginning to think that me feeling like utter hud was normal and/or all in my head. (Turns out the opposite end of the anatomy is the culprit. Heh.) I got some meds today and hopefully will feel a lot better by tomorrow.

My computer is still dead and I don’t have a replacement yet, so this is still be written on my crappy phone.

I’m going to vote today.

I was really thinking about just staying home out of sheer protest because I have hated virtually everything about this election, but I have never missed voting since I turned 18, and I just don’t think my conscience would let me not show up to vote.

So…if you are an INFORMED voter, get the hell out and vote. If I can manage to crawl there with a 103-degree fever and my girlie bits feeling like they were visited by Mrs. O’Leary’s cow, a hay bale and a kerosene lamp and engulfed in the Great UTI Fire of ‘08, YOU CAN GO VOTE, TOO!

Although? If you have no idea WHAT or WHO you’re voting FOR or ABOUT and decided to vote on a whim or just because a bunch of celebrities made you think it would be a cool thing to do?

Please do the USA a favor and stay home.

(This sentiment applies no matter WHAT party you align with.)

Thanks.

Once I went to the doctor and told him I was there because I had a bladder infection, and he said snootily, “How do you know?” And I wanted to tell him that once you have had a bladder infection once, you just KNOW when you have one again, because nothing else feels like that, smart ass. Yeah, they’re awful.

Oh, and as much as I condone being informed, voting is a right not a privilege, and everyone should feel encourage to exercise that right on this day. Preferably after at least skimming the voter info packet :)

Cast my vote this morning on the way to work! I almost hate to mention it due to the amount of trash talking going on in the blogosphere today! I’m trying not to let it get to me. Thanks for staying neutral!

To the point. Pithy. I like a pithy post. I hope you don’t pith your panth with that UTI though.

Amen on the neutrality! Woo for that!
So, it super sucks that you’ve got a UTI… I had the same experience as Sra did… But my doctor was more of an a-hole about it. He literally asked me when I got my medical degree. UGH.
Anyway - it’s hell. Hope you feel better, and I’m glad that you went out and voted despite it.

I think I’d like to add to the comment above that rights come hand in hand with responsibilities. Your responsibility as a citizen of this great, free country is to inform yourself as much as you can. I’ve done a better job at this some years than others. Having just moved to a new state, I voted for President and for a couple of other candidates that I have been able to learn about, but I left blank those offices with candidates whose names I have never heard. Doesn’t matter if there is an R or a D by their name, I feel irresponsible voting in ignorance.

I’m not even American, but I’ve been watching CNN all day because American politics intrigue me. I’m either crazy or I lead a very sorry existence, either way, I’m watching it until the end!

I am so glad I have already voted! I registered to be a vote by mail voter and it has proven to be the best thing I have ever done. I am very happy I am not standing in the cold in a line sonewhere.

I am sorry about your UTI. I will trade you though, Lets trade your burning crotch for my burning ass. I have developed a hemorrhoid and I want to die. I am not pregnant, I am not constipated, and I am pissed. I don’t think I have ever been in more pain. So, why am I telling you this? So you will look at the bright side of your burning. It can be cured with a good dose of antibiotics.

Go VOTE, you will be glad you did. :)

Oh. Dear. Lord. How in the WORLD do you have a UTI for more than 1 hour and not know it? I just begin to get one, and I’m dancing around like crazy and end up doubled over on my bathroom floor, squealing in pain, until I can peel myself off the carpet and load myself into the minivan and get to a doctor. They usually say, “You do have some bacteria, maybe enough for an infection.” YA THINK SO????? Well I guess it hits everyone differently.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I hate both cadidates because of how this election was handled. In fact I despise the media and I am truly disappointed in our country as a whole. The media has skewed everything in this election, our candidates are too self absorbed and only worried about criticizing each other rather than projecting themselves as a good pick for our president. And most of all, the public has put up with this crap for way to long! We are allowing ourselves to be lied to and we have allowed ourselves to become too divided. If our country fails we have no body to blame but ourselves because we have turned a blind eye towards the corruption in politics for way to long.
