I’m writing this from a phone because guess who had their laptop die today?
Yup.
I used loved it to death in the year that I had it. It was a basic model, but it got the job done for me. We got it for an unbelievable price, but we’re going to have to replace it this black Friday. Hopefully to a model that has longer battery life than this one had.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed I can get a loner from my hubs today because I have a lot to say about a new editing gig, my defeat on going without my Google Reader and the state of life in general.

OOh, sad. I LOVE my laptop. I’d cry if it died. Then I’d get a new one. My husband is a technology freak and any reason to buy electronics gets him on-line in a heartbeat. I have a MacBook Pro that I got because I mentioned that I thought I was ready to make the switch from the desk-top. A couple of days later, voila!

DId ya see it coming or was it out-of-the-blue? My laptop is 2.5 years old and I love it! I want it forever! But I’m realistic too. I treat it with love, I defragment all the time, I erase old info often. But computers aren’t made to last forevah…
Just so you know, my new girlfriend, Luscious, gets 4 hours in our wireless network. 4. HOURS. With the radio on. Yes!!! Mac Book Pro!! My Windows laptop from Compaq NEVER got more than two hours, and decresingly less over the years.
I know MACs are expensive. I wish they weren’t. But you won’t be buying a new one every year.
Please tell me you are getting a MacBook. They are awesome. They tell you are pretty. They match your shoes. They make you awesome.
Just look at me. Proof that Macs make you fabulous ;)
That totally sucks. Ours died after about a year and a half – totally dumb. Our new one’s made it a year without frapping out on us. KNOCK ON WOOD.

ack! I had to get a new laptop a couple of months ago because mine died, so I know your pain very well. I especially hated that it took me forever to transfer files to the new one. And that I had to learn how to use Vista. AND that I could not find some of my software so that I had to buy it again. Other than that, the new one is working fine.
