In Canada we don't get too many hurricanes, but every once in a while, one sneaks through. The last one was Hurricane Juan in 2003 which wrecked Halifax (though nothing like Katrina, obviously). It's a surreal experience, and going through it makes my heart go out to everybody in FL, LA, and anywhere else. We are at the farthest point west of the projected range. We are gassed up and ready to go just in case, as well as stocked up (thanks to food storage, I'm always prepared for that) with supplies to wait it out if there is only some damage. I just hope the power doesn't go out. It's darn hot here still- 95 or so...
