To everyone who is facing a hurricane:
I hope you are well, I hope you stay safe. I hope that your belongings and homes stay intact.
Just don’t die, ok?
It would totally bring the vibe of the blogosphere down.
(Seriously though, you are all in my thoughts. Please be safe.)

Ditto- and PLEASE don’t try to stick it out- evacuate- your life is so much more valuable than anything you could possibly leave behind. Best wishes…

My thoughts exactly. I have been freaking out about Hurricanes since Juan gave us a direct hit a few years ago. Katrina was a horror. At least folks are getting out (with their pets!) this time.

Audubon Ron has had to leave his home – and his ducks – behind and head to safer ground. His house is on a hill – exposed to the full force of whatever is coming. I hope his home, and the ducks he raises, survive this.

thank goodness everyone was following directions this time and evacuated when told instead of staying behind. while i live in mississippi, i live far enough up to where we only get the rain part of the hurricanes. the wind has pretty much died down.
Yes Please stay safe!

I’m feeling a little more confident today than I was yesterday that we won’t be getting hit too hard here in east Texas. We are at the farthest point west of the projected range. We are gassed up and ready to go just in case, as well as stocked up (thanks to food storage, I’m always prepared for that) with supplies to wait it out if there is only some damage. I just hope the power doesn’t go out. It’s darn hot here still- 95 or so…

Thankfully it wasn’t too bad, but there’s more to come. In Canada we don’t get too many hurricanes, but every once in a while, one sneaks through. The last one was Hurricane Juan in 2003 which wrecked Halifax (though nothing like Katrina, obviously). It’s a surreal experience, and going through it makes my heart go out to everybody in FL, LA, and anywhere else.
