I’m kind of on the fence about these. They are addicting, but my circle of friends would not approve. I’ll read them anyway. I just returned from a vay-cay in Washington State. My sister’s friend came along and made the trek up to Forks, Washington to see all the sites. It was her Mecca.

I am not a really a “Fan” (Um, I could buy vampires and warewoves running around Forks, Washington but no WAY will I buy that a 90-year-old would willingly hang out perpetually with teenagers in high school for eternity. No matter how good looking he is or how much he glistens in the sun.)but I’m on the last book and want to see how she finishes it.

I have a feeling everything is going to tie up into a tidy little package.

Which is TOTALLY how life is, right?

Did you hear that whatever book in the series that she’s working on now was leaked and now she’s not going to release it anymore?

I keep hearing about these things, I believe I need to pick one up. I hate being out of the loop.

TOTALLY READ ‘EM. And only a little bit ashamed to admit it!

Yep, I’ll be at the movie too. The only 30-something there SANS pre-teen daughter. Maybe I’ll just buy the super jumbo popcorn and hide behind it.

No idea why I was compelled to read all four…but I was. I found Bella annoying, and to the extent I chose at all, I liked Jacob much better than Edward. I was interested enough to want to know how it all resolved. And mildly annoyed with myself for being interested.

And I’ll see the movie, no question…also just because I’m curious how they’ll put it together.

I got sucked in to these. Not exactly great literature, but a fun read. Enjoy!

So funny! I read them too, and even posted about Twilight today. What are the chances?

The writing? Crap. The story? Annoying. Edward? The worst case of PMS ever. Seriously, how much can he whine? And Bella with the whole “how can he love me, he’s so dreamy” nonsense got on my nerves. So, why do I keep reading? To mock it, of course!

And I’m sorry, but is Edward a 100 year old virgin?

have heard all the buzz about how great they are, but that kind of kills my interest in them.

However, have recently discovered Tasha Alexander and her 3 books about Lady Emily Ashton (no they aren’t cheesy romance novels) think Jane Austen meets Sherlock Holmes. SUPER good read!

DUDE. This book is NEVER GOING TO END I SWEAR.

    GAH!

I should just throw it away and yet here I sit reading passage after passage getting more irritated and nauseated word by word, twist by twist. She really is going to tie this up in a very pretty package complete with a very shiny bow, isn’t she?

    How convenient for everybody.

I’m still going to finish it, though.

    What can I say?

    I am weak.

    BLECK.

Speaking of tonight…THIS IS IT!! Are you excited? Because I’ll be honest, I am. hehe. I need a new “phase” to go through. Love much, see you tonight!

Y’know, I read all of these and I’m a guy. I’m not ashamed to admit it either. I respect the fact that Stephanie Meyer is an up-and-coming author who tells her stories the way she wants. That aside, I could have definitely done without all the descriptions of Edward’s perfectly sculpted body, glistening in the sunlight, his perfect eyes, his perfect mouth, etc. etc.

    **VOMIT**

Still, I took them for what they were. She’s a beginning author, so I took that into account as well. Her writing did improve over the course of the series, even if the subject did not. She wrote girly stuff for girls, and on that account, she succeeded.

PS I hated the Jacob character. Sorry.

I can’t seem to escape this Twilight stuff…even yesterday at the dentist’s…the author was on the cover of the only magazine left to read.

    Maybe it’s a sign.

I’ve read those. they are alright.

Reading in general though… that is my true escape from anything disappointing or depressing or just downright overwhelming. It’s a way to escape your own life for a while and live someone else’s without all the dire consequences that would involve in real life… if you know what I mean :)

I recently started the twilight series, because I was so curious about what all of the fuss was about. I am now oddly addicted. I sort of hate it, but I can’t put it down.

I shamelessly stand up and admit that I love Edward Cullen!!!! Ok, yes… I know he’s not real… that this could never happen in real life, that someone who was 100 years old and still liked high school girls would be a certifiable pedofile…. ya… ya…. who cares?!!!! It’s fiction and I’m entitled to a little make- believe!

I actually HATED Jacob…. sorry, Loralee! (if it helps, I pictured you as Victoria- the psycho red-haired vampire with a vengeful blood mission!) :)?
