I had a similar incident in a condo I used to own, and I decided to try and fix it myself. ("I am woman, hear me roar" and all that.) Yeah, well, biiiiiiiiig mistake. My advice is to call Sears right away, since they do more of this installation/fixerupper business than anyone on the planet. Wish I'd done that first. You don't want anyone messing with those springy thingys that can amputate whole limbs anywhere near this mess. Sorry you are going through this, but please do call an expert. Loralee,
