Photos of the new digs.

June 5, 2008

I wanted to take photos of my old place and then of the new, but I am just too freaking tired. So, here is an exterior of the house we moved out of (and that my husband’s business moved INTO, for those that were wondering why there are “Employees” at my old house).

Here is the exterior of our townhouse:

I went from having a half an acre and flower gardens to potted plants, a 2 ft. cube of grass and a small slab of cement patio to put my grill on.

Right after we moved we got a gorgeous, 6 ft. cherry dining table that I LOVE. We have two more black chairs being painted that will hopefully be in by tomorrow.

The painting that is hanging is usually in my bedroom. It was done by a friend and I love it. We had to turn it the wrong way so that it would fill the space better…I’m still not sure how I feel about it hanging there.  I know it is quite modern for the surrounding pieces (the hutch is my one and only concession to the nick-knack. They are usually NOT my thing.) but I needed it to tie in the blue green of the sofa and the other reds with the rest of the room.

The fridge in the kitchen is white. We have my black and stainless fridge in the garage for storage. I could have moved it in and it would have look much better but truly, I am just too tired to worry about it.  I love the extra counter space I have in this place. Yay. We are going to be getting some black bar stools for the counter, but I’m not sure when because it would require going to another store and I think at this point I could happily live without doing THAT again for quite some time.

This is a sucky photo of the room. It’s much cozier and homey than this, but eh. It is what it is. I do like the set up of the flat screen in this home much better than how high up it was in our old house.

Front entry way.

This is the downstairs quarter bathroom. It’s tiny, but it’s rather cute. I have a five-photo series of flowers done by my uber-talented photographer friend, Bridgy hanging in there.

The best part of this move has been the boys getting their own rooms. Both of them used to be in an 8 X 10 room! TINY.  Now, they have big rooms with big closets.  We have been looking at things to hang on their walls and Christopher and James are so adorable to watch every day as they get to know their surroundings.

The boys bathroom is upstairs by their bedroom. It doesn’t have much in there but mats, toothbrushes and their brushes. I LOVE their new shower curtain. There are no hooks and I didn’t have to take it off the rod to hang it up. it just snapped on. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

Jon is getting his office set up. He has a smaller desk and we moved the love seat that matches the downstairs sofa up here.  We still have to play around with the configuration, but that is kind of low on my priority list.

My laundry was in my hall at my old house. It’s still in the hall here, but at least it’s in a closet with a rod and cabinets.

There is also a big folding area between the landing, the laundry closet and the boys bedrooms. I love the wide hallway. There is lots of stuff still flung about here, but I am working on making it functional and I have big white baskets to put underneath it for sorting dirty clothes.

While it is smaller than what I know I eventually want, I love my walk-in master closet.

Most of all, I love my bedroom and bathroom. Sorry, no photo of the bath. Jon is soaking his aching back.

I have gotten so much done. I have a lot more to do, but over all, I am pretty happy. I know that a lot of the decorating is pretty basic, but I’m ok with that.  It suits me just fine for now.

See this cozy little corner? I’m going to curl up right now and lay my weary head down to sleep.

Night!

Stumble it!
