Like nails on a chalkboard…

The good news?

As of 2 hours ago, I have internet and cable television!

(Insert joyous rendition of The Hallelujah Chorus)

The bad news?

I have no DVR.

None.

Nada.

Zip.

Apparently, the complex is changing cable providers in a couple of months and if we got the boxes we would just have to pay to buy new equipment all over again. So for the next little while I have been thrust back into the dark ages of plain, old cable.

GAH!

Let’s just say that I had forgotten what watching television without a DVR is like.  I imagine it is similar to using dial-up after years of cable internet.  (Shudder and a big hug of compassion to Thing Two out in Cali.)

I had forgotten how much I enjoy having shows that I can watch at my convienence at any hour of the day or night and how handy it is to be able to rewind and fast forward.  We won’t even go into how much having to watch commercials sucks the big one.

I imagine that next Jonathan is going to tell me that our complex doesn’t use the US Postal Service and that we’ll have to use smoke signals instead.

Sigh.

P.S. Photos of the new digs are coming, just let me finish picking my underwear off of the floor first.

Stumble it!
