There are a lot of people who don’t view the holiday as anything MORE than a long weekend. We’re thinking of you today…

I was always aware of veterans and of family that had passed but it wasn’t so difficult or personal. Plus, his birthday is coming up, so the day just blows in general.

I also wanted to say that my son, Hunter, shares Matthew’s birthday (two years later, however). I will be thinking of you with a special place in my heart, this year.

Anything I think of to say sounds really stupid. . .

I always thought it was neat when families have a special picture they take the same place every year. But I am so sorry to see this one :-( I can’t believe you can even smile :-(

“Memorial day” is every day when you have lost a child; I know that all too well. But taking a special day, set aside to remember with the whole family is a brilliant way to honour the life of a loved one. And the smiles on your faces say that love still lives here, within your family. Bravo! Bravo!

You have to love the spunk in your boys…they keep Bug’s spunk alive.

At one point during BlogHer, when you least expect it and will never know, I am going think of your Bug while toasting and hugging and laughing and geeking out is reigning supreme, and silently send him some love.

Even if I don’t end up making it to BlogHer, or meet you at if I am there.

The hardest thing a parent has to do is bury a child. We had a stillborn girl on December 10, 1980. There’s a hole in our lives where she should be. There always will be. As there will be in yours. My deepest sympathy.

Here I thought we were the only ones who took photos in front of our son’s stone.

You have no idea how relieved I am to find out you do to.
