Plus, remember how lots of you didn’t really care for the exterior of the house plan that I love? Let me refresh your memory:
I have been driving all over Cache Valley looking at house exteriors and building materials and I think I have found a house that almost identical on the exterior that I love and want to emulate. What do you think? There are of course, changes I want to make (Click to see my notes of what I like and want to keep and what I would change) but over all I love it.
It uses stone, siding and shingles, but none of them are too heavy. The stone gable is too big, but I would just keep it at the size of the house plan. Again, I made a few notes over on Flickr so just click on the photo if you’re curious.
I even like the back. It’s a sloping lot so it is even a walkout basement like mine will have to be. We won’t have the top deck, but I like how the stairs go down the side of the house instead of the middle.
Friday is the last day of school and I am a tangle of tired and worry (We still don’t know where we are moving to. I wish they would hurry up with the reference checking and such. It would REALLY help my stress if I knew where I was going to be living come June.) so, I am going to go take my sleepy self to bed.

Oh! It’s beautiful! And I really relish the thought of a walk-out basement. My own basement is so creepy; it would really brighten up if it had a pair of french doors out to the backyard. Congrats.

Where did you find the house plans? I cannot believe that you need to move so soon. I would be dying. My folks are in the process of building and after a few months have just got the okay from the city. Matt and I are hoping to start just as they are finishing up with their home. Please keep us posted on what you have had problems with and any short cuts you might find to make our lives a bit easier. At times I think it might be more simple just to find someplace that is already built, but like you, we have our land and are thrilled to build our home the way we want it. I wish you the best in the months to come and I am thrilled that you are going to have more than one bathroom. I cannot wait for the day when septic tank is no longer a part of world. I will, however, miss the well water. City water is just wrong.

Oh, I love those shoes! I tried some on almost exactly like it at DSW, but thought they wouldn’t be very good to walk all over Paris and London in without falling flat on my face! So, I got the fun red wedges that are a bit shorter. I’ll probably still fall flat, but look great doing it!
Oh, I liked the house plans to begin with, but I also love the pictures of the other one. Heck, I love anything that the term “walk out basement” doesn’t mean I have to use all my strength to heave open the basement window, hitch up my skirt, and crawl out of into the home of many spiders and crawly things, with neighbors looking on, horrified!
