A small Mother’s Day recap and asking your opinion on a handbag

May 12, 2008

Mother’s Day was bittersweet. Bitter for the obvious reason (and the added insult that I have to do the dishes from my Mother’s Day breakfast today. With NO dishwasher. GRRRRRR!) and sweet because I am mom to two of the best little guys on the planet

Yup, I would say that the thing that saved the day was the utter adorableness of my two sweet boys.

I heard excited whispering outside our door really early in the morning as my boys kept whispering, “Dad! Dad! Is it time to start making breakfast for mom, yet?”

You would think it was Christmas by how anxious they were to surprise me on Mother’s Day.

I could hear them bustling about in the kitchen with their Dad, and when it was ready Christopher and James came in and brought me a card that had little drawings on it and a p.s. from James that stated, “I made the sausage!” accompanied by juice, eggs, French toast and aforementioned sausage. Not being a breakfast person, and being exhausted from perpetual sucky nights of disturbed sleep, I ate the toast and hugged everyone and went back to sleep.

Later in the day we had lunch with my family and dinner with Jonathan’s family.

Jon’s brother and his wife just had the sweetest baby. It was so nice to hold and cuddle him. He reminded me so much of Matthew with his build and some of his features. Not that I needed to hold another baby to be reminded of my Little Bug yesterday. Or any day for that matter.

Gifts for the moms and good conversation ensued, and I ended the evening playing games with my usual group of Sunday friends.

While I procrastinate the clean up of the sty that is my kitchen, I have been browsing online for my Mother’s Day gift: A handbag for summer.

I want something different and I think I MAY have found it.

What do you think?

I am usually drawn to a bag because of its hardware, but I think that this one caught my eye because it doesn’t have any! Instead, it has adorable ruffles that I am really liking. I love the size and it fits in my budget (About $100.00). It’s also groovey because it’s a honey of a deal as it’s half off. Plus, it’s DIFFERENT, which I am always a fan of.

I freaking love bluefly.com.

If anyone else has any other suggestions on a bag (or if you just want to be awesome and wash my dishes for me), let me know.

Stumble it!
