Since he is not quite 9, my youngest son, Christopher, is still young enough to want to be tickled, loved, cuddled, and tucked in at night. Giving both of my boys “Tucky-innies” every single night at bedtime is one of the few things I am consistent about as a mom and I do come hell or high water.
Christopher especially loves it. He is just a cuddly little guy.
He especially loves “Huggies” with his mom. (That would be me. Just in case you were lost.)
Multiple times a day, he comes and wraps his arms around my waist and squeezes me in a “Monster Hug”.
I always squeeze back and say, “My little Christophee!!!!”
I have to admit that I am kind of looking forward to the day when he comes up with a different response than “My BIG MAMMA!”.
Sigh…

Being tucked in nightly could quite possibly be the best part about being a kid, and definitely one of my most favorite and tangible memories of being one.

Haha! This reminds me of me and my sister. She is quite a bit older than me (10 years) and when I was little and she was a teenager I used to call her Big. Like all the time. Like it was her name. She wasn’t actually large, just big to me. I’m sure it did wonders for her self-esteem though. Sorry sis!

You think that’s bad? A few weeks ago my 3-year-old said to me, “How come you have such a fat belly, mama?” If only there was a reasonable excuse like a baby using it as a home.

LMAO my 6 year old nephew calls my sister Big Mama all the time…
One time they were tubing the river and there was a really shallow spot, so my sister got out of her tube and started pulling the group (my nephew and a few others) over the shallow spot…the river is ALWAYS crowded-tons of people-and my nephew starts shouting “COME ON BIG MAMA! COME ON BIG MAMA! YOU CAN DO IT BIG MAMA”. The entire river was laughing at my bi..I mean older…sister.

I used to cuddle in Eason’s bed with him to read him stories, and in the morning when I would wake him up, too. Now, his bed is 5 feet off the ground- a little harder to get to. So we just cuddle on MY bed for stories every night. You are a good mom! And, yes, you are tall!

I once had a five year old tell me that I was taking up too much space on the bed. Sadly it wasn’t my five year old so I couldn’t pick him up by his earlobes and toss him out the window but I was tempted.

Filing it away for future knowledge: Do not refer to Loralee as Big Mama.
Hot Mama, yes, Big Mama, no.
I think I got it. But of course it will all depend on how much booze is flowing through my veins at the time and just how much taller than you are than me.
Heh.

Here’s my favorite part of hugs.
When I bend down to hug Payton, he’ll feel my muffin top and ask me what it is. When I tell him it’s fat, he wants to know why I’m making myself fat.
