I've been boycotting J&J for a long time (I know, I know, do they REALLY care about my own personal boycott? It makes ME feel better) due to the fact that they are suing the Red Cross. Why are they suing the Red Cross? For use of the "Red Cross" symbol. J&J says they have the trademark on the symbol and by the Red Cross using it it's causing confusion. Um, what? Have you ever seen a Red Cross on a J&J product? I certainly haven't. So, any major corporation that decides to sue a charitable organization (that survives on donations from people like me) is garbage in my book.

Your gripe just makes me even more annoyed with the entire company.

I'm still waiting on J&J to apologize to the Red Cross and reimburse it for all its legal fees. I won't be holding my breath....

My beef is not so much that she cannot bring the baby (Although that is just STRANGE given the whole topic of the event). I am not one of those that believe that kids should be allowed everywhere all the time.

My beef is that she told them she had a nursing infant at the time of the invitation and they seemed ok with it. When she confirmed her acceptance, they said "No babies" and disinvited her.

Parameters seemed really vague and unclear. Given the situation, disinviting her just seemed like bad form.

It happened to others involving other issues that have nothing to do with kids, also because of vague expectations.

This is an excellent link that breaks it down from a marketing point of view. It is very articulate and nails exactly why I was frustrated when hearing this story.

I should point out that J&J has made apologies and the person in charge does seem to feel very bad about it all.

I'm getting so many emails about this and no, I don't feel bad that you aren't commenting here because I know some of you have conflicts because you are attending Camp Baby or just don't want to make a public stink.

Don't worry about it.

Melly:
I agree

Pants:
I can see a lot of their reasoning but to take back an invite? Just rude.

Michelle:
I WISH. I'd actually go in a heartbeat (Does that make me a total hypocrite considering I think they made several sucky moves with the whole thing?)

I am not big enough on the radar to have scored an invitation. I don't feel slighted in the least, although it would have been REALLY fun. (Did I mention I can't wait to be your roomie at BlogHer???)

HRH:
"It is so strangely attractive…I am drawn to it. I just can’t figure it out."

This could be a dating profile for me. Ya know...If I dated.

I love my sideblog. It used to be a lot longer, but due to BlogHer ad SUCK I had to put an additional ad on there and so now I only rotate two at a time.

If you go into my archives all my sideblogs are labled "Sideblog:" .

I LOVE IT.
