“Saucy Frocks” Apron Giveaway!

March 3, 2008

I’m having a super fantabulous giveaway this week.

I know, I know…I just HAD a giveaway LAST week.

It’s just that it turned out so well, I thought I’d do another one.

If I’m not careful I’m going to smother you all with freebie love and then who would be left to read my blog?

My very good friend, Erin, has opened an Etsy shop called, “Saucy Frocks”
to sell her handmade, retro-style aprons!

This is us about ten years ago when we were in college together. (Forgive the crappy photos. We’re rearranging our office and my scanner isn’t hooked up. So, this is what you get-a photo of four photos. What can I say? It is what it is, yo.)

dscn1698.JPG

I love Erin to death. She is amazing. She has such a great eye and can make anything. She even made my wedding dress! (See above) After she got married and moved away we lost contact for a way too many years, but it turned out she has been lurking on my blog and recently started blogging herself.

It has been SO good to reconnect with a beloved friend.

When she told me about her aprons and showed me her photos, I went nutso. I wanted to help her spread the word about her creations because, HELLO! THEY ARE FREAKING ADORABLE!

See?
collage5.jpg

She is sending me her newest apron, the Country Garden one in pinks and green that is in bottom left-hand corner of the photo. Is it not cute? I had the toughest time picking one out.

To celebrate her grand opening, I am giving one lucky winner of this giveaway a free apron, courtesy of “Saucy Frocks”!

Here is the drill:

1. Visit Erin’s Etsy shop and pick out your favorite apron.

She only has a few currently…Don’t worry it will grow. And? She makes them in plus sizes! I would have killed to have something this cute when I was a size 22.

2. Leave a comment telling me which one you would like (You can also throw in how cute you think they are) and you will be entered to win.

3. Write a post on your blog and link back TO THIS POST (Not just my blog. See at the bottom of this post where it says “Link to this entry”? Yah. Click that.) and you will get an additional TWO ENTRIES in the drawing.

That’s a total of three entries for one link, people!

It’s worth a tiny space on your blog, right?

And to my men readers? Come on, you surely have a female in your life that would love to own one of these.

Erin deserves every good thing in life, and I am totally pulling for her business to succeed.

So?

Comment, blog, and link away, my adorable ones!

I close the giveaway on FRIDAY, MARCH 7th at midnight.

Winner will be announced on Saturday.

I think they are so cute that you should have Saucy Frock Party!! All of the guests are to be completely NAKED except for the sexy aprons. Take pictures, serve martinis and blog it silly.

    The new trunk party craze.

  3. rachel says:

Saucy Dots is too cute!! But the French one is precious too.

These are adorable!!!!!!!! I love the country French one! I’ve always been a sucker for cute aprons…among other things that I’m a sucker for.

  5. Katie says:

I can’t decide which is my favorite. I love the French with a Twist and both the Country Chic ones. I like pockets, so that’s in favor of Country Chic. I asked my boys which was the best, and they both voted for Country Chateau. But it’s really impossible to pick a favorite - they’re all fabulous.

I linked to this entry (see my URL for this comment).

  6. MacKenzie says:

They are all so cute but I love the French w/ a twist the best. That blue/chocolate color combination is one of my favorites, it would match my bedroom perfectly…not that I would be wearing it in there. Unless perhaps I was having a Kimberly-type party for two :-)

    March 3rd, 2008 at 7:29 pm

  7. MacKenzie says:

I like that idea! Give MacKenzie the French one.

    March 3rd, 2008 at 7:32 pm

  8. Craig says:

    Oops, that was actually me.

    March 3rd, 2008 at 7:33 pm

ooh, i love the country garden one, with all the red (my favorite color!). :) but they are all sooo cute.

  10. Elizabeth says:

I’m not going to enter your contest, but I just wanted to say that she’s selling her aprons for a wicked price. I (ahem) am selling aprons of a verry verry similar pattern in my etsy shop and I will tell you that I am charging more than she is. She must be fast, and getting a wicked deal on fabric. Good luck with your shop, Erin! Your aprons are cuuute!!

The Country Chateau apron is so cute, but I also love the French with a Twist. I love these things and could really use a new apron.

    March 3rd, 2008 at 8:35 pm

  15. Shannon says:

Those are too cute! They are so cute that I would be afraid to actually clean or cook in them. Good thing I try to avoid those types of activities. I may have to hop on over and order one!

    March 3rd, 2008 at 8:35 pm

  16. The Over-Thinker says:

As someone who works in the food industry, I get bored as hell wearing chef coats in the kitchen. I LOVE her aprons. I think I might have to buy a new kitchen wardrobe at her Etsy shop. Awesome!!

    March 3rd, 2008 at 9:53 pm

  17. The Over-Thinker says:

And my pick would be for the cute little “country garden” number :-)

    March 3rd, 2008 at 9:56 pm

  18. Angella says:

    Oooohhhh…

I am torn between the one you picked and the pink “saucy dots” one.

Thanks for giving me some side blog fodder too, yo.

    Also?

    YOU ARE FRIGGIN’ GORGEOUS. :)

    March 3rd, 2008 at 10:45 pm

  19. Nic says:

I love them and am bookmarking the store while I wait for more patterns and colors. Right now I love the French Twist, but I really like the style of the Country Garden.

  20. sarah bean says:

    oh! oh! OH!
    *ahem*
they are goooorgeous. I have such an apron fetish at the moment, but I have never seen anything like THESE little beauties.
Trying to decide which ONE is my fave just about gave me an anyuerism (and then another one, trying to fecking spell aneurism). In the end - eeny meeny miney mo - I simply can’t live without the Country Chateau one. Can’t. live. without. it.
How serious do you think she is with this “ships only to the united states” business, I wonder.
Oh and here’s the link to the post on my blog, where I continued the drooling ;)

French with a twist is my favorite. Great apron and Etsy rocks!

    March 4th, 2008 at 9:35 am

  27. Amber says:

I love those–more like sexy sundresses or negligee than aprons! My favorite is the French with a Twist, though the Saucy Dots is a close second. Plus, I’ve been thinking lately (usually as I’m leaping away from a splattering pan of chicken) that I should invest in an apron. Getting one for free, of course, would be infinitely better.

    March 4th, 2008 at 9:37 am

  28. Jill - GlossyVeneer says:

The French with a Twist is awesome as is the Saucy Dots. I would feel bad if I got anything on them while cooking, but I think my husband would find me totally HAWT if I wore those while in the kitchen!

    March 4th, 2008 at 10:11 am

  29. MotherMe says:

Country Chateau, Country Garden. Country Chateau, Country Garden. Nope. Still can’t decide.

Lovely designs! Good luck with your shoppe!

  30. Pink says:

oh my gosh! how cute are those aprons? i saw take the pocket off the front, make a back and you’d have a cute little dress. well, almost. but then again, considering where i come from, even backless i know people who would wear it out.

i love lots the pink dotted one with the halter-ish top. like i’d pick out one other than pink!!!

    March 4th, 2008 at 11:02 am

  31. Carrie says:

Love the French with a Twist one- I’m a sucker for blue and brown.

I actually told my husband that I want an apron for my birthday. I dont really cook, so I’m not sure why I need one, but they’re so cute!

maybe she could post it to one of my USA bloggie chicks and i could bribe them to send it to me???

  39. Melly says:

Well good pick on the French one..my second pick would be the Saucy one. I really love aprons and have a couple, but none are as cute and classy as these.

Gosh, these are cute enough to wear by themselves…:) although I don’t recommend wearing JUST an apron while cooking…It never turns out well. TMI??

Anyway, I’d love to do a post on your friends Etsy site! I know my sisters, and sister-in-laws will love them!

  53. FirstNations says:

    GIVE PINK THE FROCK!
    Here is why.
    1. She is groovy. Even groovier than MARCIA BRADY and that is pretty darned groovy.
    2. She successfully defended America from the Canadians during the darkest days of the Cheese Rebellions in 1978
    3. As Queen of Canada she needs a Queen Apron and that apron that she wants would make a very nice QUEEN APRON.
    4. This frock will serve to shield the mindbending rays of EXTREME GROOVINESS which eminate from Pink, thus making it safe for her to walk among her people
    5. Pink would be a wonderful emisSary of worldwide FROCK LOVE
    6. She splashes when she eats (especially anything with noodles)
    PINK SHOULD HAVE THE FROCK!

( I wonder if she would make a purple and yellow and green one to matchity matchity my kitchen?!!? ) But all in all they are all awesome and have their own style. I could so see myself in one of these (beats my PC one I have…ugh, I hate that thing!) Okay off in a bit to post to my blog…..and to subscribe to your blog!

    March 7th, 2008 at 11:30 am

  56. Melain says:

DUDE. Are you freakin kidding me?!!! I just spent the last TWO MONTHS looking for an apron that didn’t look came directly from Grandma’s sock drawer. Do you have any idea how many UGLY aprons there are in the world?!!! I finally found one at a high end store downtown that cost me $60!!! It was a gift for a friend, so I coughed it up, but I need one for me and I’m not spending that on myself!!! Her aprons are ADORABLE! I’m in love with Saucy Dots. I think it’s in love with me too. We were meant for each other. Don’t disappoint us.

French with a twist - just enough to be sexy (although probably less so with sweats on underneath, instead of something dressy…)

    Beautiful work.

    March 7th, 2008 at 1:24 pm

  58. Christine says:

Dang, that was hard. I kept being SURE I knew which was my fave, but then would take a good look at the next one…you know how it goes.

Ultimately I went with Country Garden. I think it would best hide my flaws while accentuating what I’m rockin’. Yes, I think of that while picking an apron. Who doesn’t?

I’ll do a linky to get those three chances. I *really* want that adorable apron.

And congratulations on reconnecting with an old friend. Few things in life are better than that.

I love the french with a twist apron. It would be very happy in my kitchen, helping me wash dishes since I don’t own a dishwasher.
