***Belated “Spoiler” alert for Project Runway. I sucked and ruined it for some. Crap.
The last two days have sucked a duck.
I don’t want to spew ick all over you, so we will just say that it involved my fridge dying a horrible, tragic death at 7:00 pm, trying to figure out where the unbudgeted money needed to buy a new fridge would come from, fighting with my spouse, whiplash, and Chris getting eliminated from “Project Runway”.
Since it’s painful to sit in this position for an extended length of time (You know, because of the whiplash) and because I am *This* close to having a major pity party for myself that would probably include me giving in to the dark side and cheating with Diet Coke, Ho-Ho’s and listening to copious amounts of cheesy, depressing music from the 80’s, I would LOVE it if someone would tell me some GOOD NEWS.
Won’t you?
Please?
Bring on the joy! Happiness!! Bragging!!!
What has happened to you lately that doesn’t suck? Â
And?
If you have no good news?Â
What is your favorite “Wallow” music so I can update my ipod list.

My StumbleUpon Page

Lisa Ann says:
I am so with you! The final straw for me was Chris’ elimination. I swear if Christopher wins it I will jump off my roof.
Good “wallow” music for me is more “attitude” than wallow, but it gets me strutting again. (Oh and I am awful about who sings the songs, so…)
I’m a Bitch (Meridith V???)
Sexy Back (Justin Timberlake)
The Bitch is Back (Elton John - seriously)
Pretty People (Dexter Freebish - this song is SO ego boosting- it’s so good)
Candyman (Christina Agulara)
Hope those help to cheer you up…

good news….hmmm….wow, I’ve been sitting at the computer for like 4 minutes now trying to come up with one….hmmm…..I’m caught up on laundry? Does that count? No? How about it’s almost friday, that’s nice right?
Wow I’m lame!

Don’t give in!! Be strong! Your diet coke addiction is like my take out addiction. I gave up take out for two weeks and I have almost reached the end. Saturday night I will be treating myself to a glorious sushi dinner. As an added bonus, I have lots 5 pounds! Go me!
Sorry about the whiplash, been there, done that. It sucks. Grab a heating pad and the most comfortable pillow you can find!

Good news…well my cat has taught herself to pee in the toilet! I consider that to be great! Now if she would only poop in the toilet and teach the other cat how do do it too we could get rid of the rankness that is our litter box.

Yeah, I was surprised about Chris being eliminated–I liked his 3 looks much more than all that draping
Plus, his models makeup and hair rocked!
Good news! You know I’ve been nannying for about 9 months now. Well, Cameron just turned 1 year, and he is finally starting to walk! I came back after a long weekend, and he got up on those wobbly legs and walked over to me with a huge hug to follow. Also, as lame as it is, I think this is huge good news: I learned how to knit socks! Now I can cover my tootsies with beautiful wool in any color I choose. Yumm
Sorry your day has sucked a duck. May it get better!

Oh…and something I posted yesterday will make you laugh until you cry. And we could always use laughter that makes us wet ourselves when we are in a pissy mood. Here’s a link. Read at your own risk…trying to keep your head still so as not to worsen your whiplash condition.

thanks for stopping by my blog! :)Sorry it’s been a little rough for you lately. You’re one of my favorite places to read daily. You make me feel normal, especially in the Diet Coke area. If it makes you feel any better, I keep an emergency supply stashed in the trunk of my car. You never know when you might need a Diet Coke.

little miss, “I want to go to a Big Lady party” age 4 1/2 hosted a Tinker Bell birthday party for her Aunt who is 23 today. she was so freaking adorable!!! She greeted the guests at the door and showed them to their seats. She served them their salads and asked them if they wanted water or Chocolate milk to drink. She helped decorate, set the tables and filled the “goodie” bags. She and I went to pick up the Tinker Bell cake from the bakery people just assumed that it was for her. She just giggled and told them it was for Aunt Lece and that the party for her was her very own idea. She won over everyone. That is my good news. Oh, oh, oh, oh, and that I got tickets to see the Beach Boys in Wendover and have the most awesome seats. Yeah me!

My niece is going to come over and play tonight. She always cheers me up. Such a giggly little doll.
Morrissey is my wallow music. God I love the Smiths! I listen on Pandora so I get to hear all sorts of stuff that I don’t personally own.
When I need to get happy I listen to the Polyphonic Spree. They’re so damn cheerful and happy - I would totally run away with them.
Check your email in a few minutes.

Sorry dear, no good news here–we’re in the wait and see game with this baby/karate expert in my stomach. I’m due in one week, but would oh so love to have it out today, right this instant!
As for music, all music bugs me right now (especially anything made just for kids) except for really twangy country stuff. Weird. Just plain weird.

Good news?
My buddy got gold fillings for free and God is madly in love with you.
I don’t do wallow music my dear, it tends to make me think God doesn’t love me and I really need to do everything I can to remember He does.
Sorry about the ick, this too shall pass.

hairyshoefairy says:
I was sad to see Chris go, too. Human hair? Wow, but still very innovative and cool looking if you don’t know. The safety pins thing was awesome. Plus, I just really liked the guy.
I’m a fan of The Cranberries for wallowing.

Gradschool Knitter says:
Ummm… Dr. BF is here to visit me! It makes me happy, anyways!
Don’t wallow with the music, it tends to draw the wallowing out longer and more painfully than it tends to need be. Instead, pick something up-beat, like feist’s mushaboom, or almost anything Barenaked Ladies (their newest album, are me is great and fully of up-beat stuff… like the song about a bank job that gets busted up by a bunch of nuns!) Warning: avoid the desire that will come with these songs to dance along… you’re bound to want to, but with the whiplash it is not recommendable…
February 28th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Kevin says:
Sorry, can’t help you with “wallow” music. Music is just background noise for me. I don’t sync it up with any moods.

Dr BF is in B’more, Erin? Awesome! Hope the weather is looking up - those mittens have really come in handy.
My good news? I got into Ohio State and they’re nominating me for a fellowship. But… I don’t really want to go there anyway.
Other good news? I finally got to pop a pimple today that’s been brewing under my skin for a good 3 weeks. There is simply nothing more satisfying that watching one of those gush.

My 5-year-old found a beer bottle in our loveseat! But it was empty.
Ummmm let’s see, good news..I finished a BIG freelance project last week and we have daffodils blooming, despite the fact that it snowed yesterday. I had the flu last week, though, and that really sucked.
Depeche Mode is good for wallowing. So is old John Denver, but then it REALLY makes me cry.

I am actually wallowing myself at the moment - injured hand and can’t handwrite or type properly. Two very important tasks when you are a university student!
On the plus side my husband shines when I am physically impaired - he’s not sure what to do with me when I am just sad for no reason, which is often, poor guy - so he is cooking and cleaning and constantly encouraging. Which is wonderful.
February 28th, 2008 at 5:06 pm

p.s. I think old John Denver is an oxymoron…isn’t it all old?

My husband got one day off of work, which is a big feat and we’re going with our 1 year old down to SLC for a one night get away/shopping trip.
I’m excited, it’s been a while since we’ve done something like this. And it will be fun to take our little guy swimming for the first time in a Hotel pool. Any good suggestions on where to stay down there?
Sorry about your fridge! That stinks!
Hmmm…music…here’s an unusual choice…
The Happy Worker, by Tori Amos off her B sides and Rarities album. Usually her stuff is a bit depressing for me, but this is a good song to crank and get your fridge cleaned out and get to work.

I won 227 tickets at the skee-ball game at Fat Cats last night! It was Eason’s birthday and we got a rubber spikey ball, a gelly ring, a chinese finger trap, and a squishy smiley face ball… all for only putting $11 worth of tokens into the skee-ball machine that kept spewing forth way more tickets than we won!!! Wooo Hooo!!!!

Nancy says:
I don’t have any good news. But when I want to wallow, I try Ani Difranco, Dead Can Dance, Postal Service/Death Cab for Cutie and Dave Matthews (not Dave Matthews Band, just him alone). Some good thinking music…
I believe in embracing my emotions (makes me feel alive!) so if I’m sad, I’m sad. When I’m done being sad, I go back to being happy. Some people believe in not wallowing, but it works for me. Sometimes just going with it is a coping mechanism!
Hope you feel better soon.

i’m with the first commenter for wallowing music…as in, wallowing makes it worse. i can only listen to sad music when i’m happyish. (that said, elliott smith, jeff buckley, etc.)
but i think you’d love christina aguilera. that back to basics album (but i’d suggest here to stay, or slow down baby, i tend to skip through candyman) is my soundtrack right now….we could be listening to it together!

I don’t have any good news to report, but I did find you a fridge. It’s perfect for ho-ho’s and Diet Coke.

Also, it says that it’s whisper-quiet. I think that means that it won’t yell, “LORALEE’S GETTING ANOTHER DIET COKE AND A HO HO!!” every time you open the door.

I was so bummed that Chris didn’t make it - his pieces were so much better than Rami’s… I’m sorry, they were. I don’t want to see more draping. Although I looked at all the finished lines online and I didn’t really freak out over anyone’s final work - to me, it’s the most disappointing finale of any Project Runway season.
Wait, you wanted good news. Um, Faith has promised to try not to toot so much.

THE BEST WALLOW MUSIC: Into the Ocean by Blue October and Autumn Leaves by Eva Cassidy. Those two little numbers turn self pity into a fuzzy warm quilt that you can wrap up in and rock yourself to sleep with! Then when you’ve had enough and you’re ready for the pick-me-up, listen to Let Go by Frou Frou. Works every time. xoxo

So who are you hoping wins Project Runway this season now that Chris is out?
I have some good news. Last night we finally got our tax return in and today I paid off a credit card debt that I’ve had for 11 years. The heavens opened and the angels sang and I feel 10 pounds lighter.
