Sideblog:Best Bra Buy

January 27, 2008

Do y’all remember the commercial of the very “Ample” Jennifer Love Hewitt hawking a bra for Hanes? It is called the “All over comfort bra and is supposed to have non-slip straps and fit a fuller chest without bulges. I bought one and I FREAKING LOVE IT. It is so comfy and it is the ONLY bra that I have ever had where the shoulder strap doesn’t fall down. This is no small feat as I have scoliosis. Best of all? It’s under $10.00 at WalMart, yo!  Give it a try. You’ll lurve it.

I don’t have an ample chest, but it’s always good to hear reviews of a product from someone you actually know. Of course, I have a hard time buying bras when I’m not in an environment overly-bathed in pink (i.e. Victoria’s Secret). Just a mental block, or something! ;-)

argh…would so love to test the capabilities, but as usual, “ample” only goes up so far… *shakes fist crankily* glad it works for you, though, i know the frustration of bra shopping! :)

Ooh! I want to try that one. My straps fall down all the time. Though I must admit, I wear a bra purely for social reasons. Especially now that I’m no longer nursing, well, there’s not much left to lift. Thanks for the bra info.

I’ve tried many different bras, and despite the pink mania, Victoria Secret, has had the best track record. I love their IPEX bra.

I’m also well endowed…and its hard for me to find a cute, comfy bra…actually besides that Ipex one, the only other one I really love is a marternity bra I got from Motherhood…It rocked…but decided to put it away when It had been 8 or 9 months since I stopped breastfeeding.

Glad you found something that works for you. :)

good to know. i have big boobs too, and good comfortable bras are hard to find. so far, i’ve found the bras from Lane Bryant to be somewhat comfortable. and since i’m short and have a short chest area, i can’t help but have cleavage no matter what i wear, so their plunge bras are really cute and comfortable. but they’re way expensive and i can’t afford to buy them like i want to.

I’ve been wanting to try these, but they don’t come in my size: 38DD.

    Grr….

Glad you love them, though! Comfy bras are a gift straight from God. :)

Mental note taken! A good bra is worth its weight in GOLD.

I went to the VS website and followed their measuring instructions- having the right fit MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!!!

  9. Melly says:

You defintly need to be measured…I’m a 40DD and 40E when I’m nursing (sounds like I’m bragging but I’m not)…I just am always on the lookout for a great bra. Hard to find them sometimes for my size.

But yah, I really like that ipex one from vs right now.

So…I’m at Wal-Mart last night looking through the bras, and I have to call my sister…

    “Are you near your computer?!”
    “Yes-why?”
“Ok-go to http://www.loraleeslooneytunes.com-now on the left hand side you should see her side blog-tell me the name of the bra she was blogging about”

My sister thinks I’m nuts, and so does the lady that was standing beside me as I was looking through the bras, but whatever-I picked one up for myself! I have been wearing the same kind of bras forever and have needed a new one for awhile now, but this broke girl can’t afford Victoria’s at the moment, so I’m so glad I saw your suggestion.

I have little boobies and a large rib cage. Apparently only small boobies can be attached to small rib cages. I must be a freak of nature because I have a hard time finding bras in my size.

  12. hairyshoefairy says:

Heidi, you and I are in the same boat. Small boobs, big rib cage. I recently measured myself for a new bra. The size I’m supposed to be doesn’t seem to be made by anyone. Is that pathetic or what? I totally hear you.

Dude, I think this breaks my sideblog comment record. Who knew?

I had the whole HUGE FRIGGIN’ RIBCAGE tiny little boobs before I had them “Altered”. Buying bras was horrible.

And? Cory, that account of you at WalMart KILLED me! HEE HEE!
