They put the opening scene for Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd” online. I am SO excited for this film because I am a huge fan of the dark (And gory) musical theater comedy. Sondheim is a genius and the music and plot in this tale are phenomenal. “The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”! Could you write a better phrase? NO! I love the overture in this clip, but I am not so sure how I feel about the stylized animation that they have going on here. Hmmm… Time will tell.

I’ve slowly come to the realization that Johnny Depp is the best actor of our generation, so I think I will end up checking it out too. Liked the preview I saw tonight.
I’m way excited for this too. Plus, the cast they’ve assembled is just phenomenal.
It looks so awesome. When I first heard they were making it I didn’t realize they were doing a musical. Such a cool thing. I agree with Jill. Fantastic cast. Also, I just love Johnny Depp.
