There has been a bit of confusion about my post yesterday. I say that I’m “Two steps away from being a shut in” because, well, I am. Today was the first time in almost 5 days that I left my house and that was so that I could do my weekly volunteering in Christopher’s class. I rarely see anyone lately. Loads of reasons why, mainly it’s just how it is.
One of those “Things” is that I have had full-time care of this adorable little barf-bucket. My great-niece, Ellie Nan. Isn’t she cute?
(BTW-She does have acid reflux. Thanks for all the advice in the previous comments!)
I thought that taking care of an infant would make it clearer if I should have another baby or not, but it seems like I am only more torn. Man, these little doodlebugs are a ton of work, but ooooohhhh…they are so much fun, too.
Today is my last “Full time” day with the wee one. I’ll have her a bit next week, but this is most likely our last night together.
It’s probably a good thing because I have my hands full with my kids. James has been alternating between speaking in a British accent and serenading me with “Downtown” by Petula Clark ALL FREAKING DAY. We just had this lovely exchange before dinner:
“James! Come do your homework.”
“James is not here, fair missus.” (In aforementioned British accent)
“He’s not, huh? Who are you, then?”
“I am Fredrick. Uh…Fredrick Monroe…the Third.”
“Well, Mr. Fredrick Monroe the Third, you need to get your math and spelling done.”
“I am British and am involved in an international kid-exchange program. The British don’t DO homework. Since you are American and I am British, you cannot make me do my homework. You don’t have authority over me. God save the British and Cheerio!!! “
“Oh, really? You and I should have a discussion about a little thing called The Revolutionary War. Unless you want to land your heiny Boston Harbor, I HIGHLY recommend that you get it done, Tiny Tim.”
And with THAT astounding bit of parenting, I’m off to respond to the comments and emails you lovelies have left for me.
