I figured I would only post 5 “Things” today. I’m going easy on you all due the multiple posting of yesterday and the psychologically scarring “Tron” link I put on my sidebar. (My apologies to those who required multiple “Ben & Jerry’s Therapy Sessions” to recover from the site of a grown “Squishy Man” man in a unitard.)
1.My niece, Ruth is getting married on June 21st at Camp Pendleton in California. We are going to attempt to take our children to Disneyland as they have only been one other time and Christopher feels cheated because he doesn’t remember it. I certainly remember it. I was pregnant with Matthew and Christopher projectile vomited in the middle of a huge crowd just as James LOUDLY told a very ample woman that “WOW! You are FAT!” Yah, pretty much a really sucky moment as a mother. Fortunately, Disney has cornered the market with their “Barf battalion” as I came to fondly think of them in my head. Seriously, they mean business. I think the mess was cleaned up in about 5 minutes. Staggering.
2. My mother informed me that not only do they want to have me sing cheesy Karaoke for their 50th wedding anniversary, now there is discussion of LINE DANCING. I’m suddenly thinking that Job had it pretty sweet. I know, I know. It is their anniversary, but seriously. I want to stick a fork in my eye and call for heavy medication.
3.Did I mention that I spent about 3 hours at my parents house having to untangle a fraudulent charge on their American Express after being informed of said line dancing desire? It was so much fun having to go through about 15 different automated directories trying to get to a PERSON only to speak to Yolanda, Dustin, Chanterall, and Rhajii. All of whom I got zero information or help from. It ended up sort of ok. We’ll monitor the situation.
4.James is working his grounded little butt off trying to earn back his grades and my trust. We shall see.
5.I just finished a really interesting book: “How we were hungry” a book short stories by Dave Eggers. I am not totally sure how I feel about it, but I do know that I liked a lot of it. Some of the stories I thought were brilliant, some of them were too rushed and haphazard, and some I felt he was just trying to flippin’ hard to be “Short story-ish”. I know that may not make sense, and too bad so sad that I don’t feel like explaining it further. Now I need to find something else to read. Any suggestions?
