Saying Goodbye. It’s hard to do.

October 7, 2006
My husband, Jonathan has known Kyle and Camille since high school. We are all good friends and I am pleased to say that Kyle and Camille started dating at last year’s infamous “Annual Choate 4th of July Party”.

I adore Camille. She is one of the hardest working, most caring people I know. She has been a great example of how to deal with the crap that life throws you and turn it into the best thing you can.

A couple of days ago we found out that Camille got a huge promotion and she and Kyle will be moving to the DC area. They pack up and go next weekend! While I am ecstatic for them both, I am so bummed for selfish me. I love Camille. I love hanging out with her, weekends in Salt Lake, going to breakfast at The Blue Plate Diner and shopping at The Rack. She is a must-have for all our parties.

I don’t deal with loss well. It sucks, and this time of year is just emotional. Even though we didn’t see each other a ton since she moved to Salt Lake, an hour drive still meant seeing her several times a year. Since she and Kyle have family in the valley, I am hoping that they will be back a few times in the next decade.

To say goodbye, we (Me, Jon, Camille, Kyle, Brigitte, Max and Trent, plus all children)gathered at Max and Brigittes. Fabulous food (A killer penne pasta in sausage marina, salad with EVERYTHING in it and lovely bread. Diet Coke, Merlot, Jack Daniels, and some kind of beer that was mainly water were the beverages of choice for the evening.).

We talked about EVERYTHING, and played Apples to Apples. Camille won. What a way to go out. There were some “Interesting” parts of the evening, that well…I just won’t bore you with. It was a killer time, though.Goodbye, Camille(And Kyle, of course!). You deserve every good thing. It just will NOT be the same without you here.
